| My 6th grader just asked why there is no school today. His words "it's not even snowing or doing anything outside and it's all distance learning". Good question buddy.. |
3rd time you claim not to care. The more you say it the less we believe you. |
Yet you’re still posting too. I can do this all day. |
|
It wouldn't bother me so much if my middle schooler didn't have a teacher who has been dodging his (and then my) emails for a week because he can't get access to a digital resource needed for an assignment that was due back on Tuesday (and that he has not been able to complete due to the lack of said resources). He was going to ask her about it again in person today (on Tuesday she said she would email him), but I guess that's not happening.
But this is fine. Tomorrow there will be a follow up email to the principal. |
Oh APS. You never cease to amaze me. We chose DL but I’m out looking for an Open Schools Now sign. . Weather + Data + Science = Why is School Closed Today?
|
This is not about snow day. This is aboit total and compete failure to teach the younger grades. |
Duran and the entire SB are a total failure for our children. How do we get them out? I wonder what's going on with that lawsuit. It feels like there's no end in sight for this nonsense to stop. Meanwhile, our kids are falling further and further behind.. |
Nothing is going on with that lawsuit. It hasn't even been served on APS yet because the guy can't get enough donations to his gofundme to fund the next phase of litigation (and he's not willing to risk having to pay for any of it out of his own pocket). |
Does anyone else think that some people are using their angst and anxieties about COVID against Duran and APS, perhaps in an attempt to obtain some control over a situation they otherwise cannot control? JFC, people, there is a weather event today. Your kid will still get into Harvard, especially when they write their heartbreaking essay about life seemed irretrievably broken when DL was canceled due to weather.

| They’ll explain during tonight’s school board meeting that it’s “unconscionable” to teach kids online when it’s sleeting. 😀 |
| On Arl Now they are reporting that APS was following the federal government. Except that teleworking federal employees are working today. They are only closed for in person work. APS communications needs to do better. |
Yes x 1000. |
Okay, SAHMommy. |
Hahaha! Nope. Have worked in BigLaw the entire time I've been a parent, without a FT babysitter once the kids were in school. I won't pretend it hasn't been super stressful, but I'm not going to bitch at APS, Duran or Mother Nature because I had something else on my schedule that day. |
| When they made the call at 5AM we were supposed to get 3-5” of snow. I’m sure they thought it would be nice for kids to be kids for 5 minutes and make a snowman in the snow instead of sitting in front of a computer again all day. Turns out this is mainly a sleet storm, so the DC weather but then in the ass. I believe their intentions were good though. And lord knows my high schooler could use a mental health day today. |
