I don't think it's necessary to get out of D.C. if you don't live near the Hill or near downtown. It seems very unlikely that militias are going to try to go door-to-door in residential neighborhoods looking for people to attack.

I live close in on the Hill and my parents do not want me in DC the week of the inauguration. But I feel like law enforcement will have it handled next time.

Some took selfies with the criminals.
Some opened the doors for them and were in on it.
Many cops from around the country flashed their badges to get into the building.
