But they breached the Capitol, had bombs, and zip ties to take hostages.

I can't believe anybody thinks this is anything other than some bad decision making by a handful of hooligans, incited by some professional instigators. Doesn't anybody else just find the whole thing amusing?

No. I do not find it amusing. If you find it amusing you are a sociopath.

I agree that (thankfully) last week's mob was disorganized and incompetent. But, I don't find it amusing in the slightest. Their intent was vile, they were spurred on by leaders at the very top of our government, and many members of the federal police were either negligent or complicit. 5 people died, including a police officer. Not even a little bit funny.

+1

I also don’t think any Jewish people thought armed mobs with the slogan 6 million was not enough is amusing at all. And I’m sure no black people think gallows on federal land is funny either.

Maybe not, but black and Jewish people did make up a tiny minority of that mob. Crazy.

They were chanting, "hang Mike Pence" over and over in the Capitol.

That excuse of an orange projects everything. A literal witch-hunt as he drains himself with all of his smoked out rats that fled as the swamp got stanker and slimier.

A large group of insurgents armed with guns, bombs, and other weapons stormed, by force, the building containing the entire legislative branch of government, the top 3 people in line to the Presidency, the documents ensuring the continuity of the government beyond January 20, and large collections of national intelligence. That they were dressed as comic book characters, and carried out their actions with 5e precision of pre schoolers, does not render their actions, intent,or responsibility any less heinous. No, I don’t find it amusing in the least. I do find disgusting the inability of others to recognize and admit the seriousness of the events.

This. An extreme security breach.

Just so amused idiots are clear, the first few seconds of video in that first link show a police officer being dragged from inside the Capitol onto the steps of the US Capitol, where he we was beaten to death.

+1 - I fear that, for too many people, the ridiculousness of the horned fur men and private jet Malibu barbies is obscuring the seriousness of what actually just happened.

It was an inside job.

And if it was, they will have people on the inside helping them the next time they decide to riot as well.

Maybe that's why one of the members of the Capitol Police killed himself this weekend. Maybe he knew something we don't.

Security for the inauguration will be sufficient in and around the Capitol and White House. I'm worried about armed militias roaming around the rest of the city and the possibility they will look for alternate targets.

Yup. Actual Nazis were there. Did people not see the 6MWE shirt? It sent chills down my spine. I grew up seeing the Auschwitz serial number tattoos at the family holiday table.
