Now that I think about it almost all of them. Annie, Larissa, rose, Julianna, Fernanda, anfisa, off the top of my head. There's many more though. If their last string of hope was marrying up they are most likely to do it with an older, uglier, or broke man from America.

Fernanda was 16 or 17 and Jonathan met her at a night club. What makes you think she was a prostitute, opposed to Jonathan being a pedophile. I did not get prostitute from her. I sensed young, naive, and spoiled from Fernando.

This dude was banging a teenager in Mexico. Let's just face it. He even bought her some 'enhancements'. I don't care how you want to skew the semantics to turn it into romantics. This is flat out creepy! Sure, she wears so much makeup that she doesn't look like she just walked down the auditorium aisle to get her high school diploma...but she was in the club in Mexico meeting and hooking up with American men in hotel rooms before she passed 11th grade English. AND HER parents let her whore herself to an old pervert in a different country shortly after she was old enough to have her braces removed. My father is from Italy. He would have shot this dude. And I was smart enough in 10th grade to know that if a senior was hitting on me, he wasn't good enough to get girls hot enough in his own grade to date him...even if he was considered 'hot' at the time. Something had to be 'off' about him. Not only is something wrong about this Jonathan guy, but something is also very wrong about her and her family. The girl practically had a boob job before she fully hit puberty...and he loves to throw it in her face that he bought them for her? Nothing is right about that.

In one of the first seasons there was a Mormon missionary in his late twenties or so who met a 15 year old Brazilian girl and then married her when she turned 18. SHe came from a village that didn't even have running water and it did seem like she became a Mormon and married him in order to have basic human comforts like running water. It bothered me that everyone in his 'church' described him as so incredibly virtuous for marrying the little foreign girl without actually talking about the fact that he met her when she was 15. I had a colleague in the foreign service who did something similar. He met his wife when he was 40 and she was 15 in some village in China. And we were all expected to have them over for dinner and behave like it was normal. It was creepy AF.

Alan and Kirlyam... she was only 11 when he did his mission in Brazil.

What about Geoffrey and Varya?

Paul and Karine are having a second kid and they are in Brazil. She claimed he hit and abused her but apparently they are back together. Karine had a supportive family, but she was absolutely dirt poor and I think she felt like she had no other options especially after getting pregnant twice.

I have no idea what happened with Geoffrey and Varya. They're both psychos though. He also has a past with domestic violence.

He does too? eesh. I hadn't heard that one before.

Multiple allegations involving three different women he was either married to or dating:

Yeah and his arrest was for arson which is probably one of the worst things to have on your record for employment.

I am watching this season right now. He is such an incredible mess and I just don't see any path that leads to happiness or stability. I kind of feel sorry for her, but not really. She's kind of awful in her own right - like with him only being able to bring two bags instead of five. She tells him to just bring himself, doesn't matter what he brings and then she is a real bi*%H with what he shows up with.

But the ultimate mess has to be Corey. He's blatantly being used as an ATM and still upends his life for Eveline. She is absolutely horrible.I can't believe he got on that bus. I would have gotten on the next plane home.

I can't remember their names but remember their story! It was the first season I ever watched. The girl was actually only 12 when he first met her! They are still married and are expecting their second baby. A friend that has Discovery Plus told me they have a recent episode or update three.

Geoffrey and Varya are still reportedly together and she has been in the US for the past several months during quarantine according to some trashy website I follow that is posted video and audio of them together.

I can't believe they are still together. I felt so sorry for Varya.

His parents are very intrusive and his Mom seems a little too attached to him but Julia is not likable.

I didn't think it was that unreasonable to expect Julia to help with the animals.

I thought it was ridiculous that she said she can't wake up in the morning... even though she was waking up in the morning every day when Brandon brought her tea. I think the parents are kind of crazy and definitely pushy and unlikeable, but I cannot disagree that it's their house, their rules. Julia's problem is Brandon, not the parents.

Yes.

How is anyone surprised by this?

I wish they selected more couples who met in real life, versus the whole online mail order bride met on social media thing. There are a couple the season who met more organically. I just wish we saw that more than the ones that seem like scams from the start.

Loren and Alex are one of my favorites for precisely this reason. Of course that means their drama was boring and manufactured...

Chantel and Pedro are my favorite couple. He was her Spanish tutor when they met. They are not boring.

They are one of my least favorites - so obnoxious and either highly toxic or the manufactured drama is over the top. The whole family chantel are the worst, if not close to it.

I agree with pp, Loren and Alexei are among my favorites! I miss seeing Tarek on pillow talk though, his commentary was always gold.

They changed the story of how they met sooo many times, though. At first it was a friend introduced them, then they were language buddies... I read a rumor on the 90DF Reddit that Pedro's mom set him up with Chantel so he could come to the States and support her and his sister.

See, I don't feel sorry for him at all. He knows full well how Evelyn treats him. He either likes it or he's the ultimate simp.

NP. I think it's fair that she help out on the farm, but allowing them to stay in the same room would be a fair compromise. The parents left condoms, for christ's sake - they know the two are going to have sex. I don't know if that bit is artificially inflated for the show dramatics, but to me expecting her to help on the farm is reasonable, but she's not an indentured servant. Let her have some dominion over who/where she sleeps.

I totally disagree about the farm. I think it's reasonable to expect her to do some chores inside of the house, but she shouldn't be free, forced farm labor for Brandon's parents. They are really taking advantage of her and the situation. Brandon is such a wet blanket.
