Thank you! We're really looking forward to it. Finally!

Your use of we is weird. You’re not going in the school. The children and teachers are.

If you are not comfortable with in person, continue with DL. Many of us want our kids to be in school and hope LCPS succeeds.

Good luck today, LCPS.

Praying the infections skyrocket and push LCPS to DL.

I'm confused. I think these are the TOTAL OF NEW CASES FOR THAT DAY, not the rate per 100k. That's a big difference. Over a million people live in Fairfax.

Lol it won't, time to get off your large behind into the shower and into the schools to fit actual work. I know it's hard but it will hault your ability to file an ada claim for obseity as you burn precious calories.

The Fairfax County Covid Dashboard had 262 new cases for yesterday, November 30.

I guess I'm bad at math, how does that work out to 368 cases per 100,000 people? Population of Fairfax is 1.14 million.

2 new hospitalizations for the entire Fairfax County yesterday for Covid. 0 deaths. 7 day average of deaths is 1.

Looks like plenty of room in the hospitals, which was the reason for flattening the curve and closing schools in the first place.

According to the VDH Dashboard it is the “Total number of new cases per 100,000 persons within the last 14 days”.

My nephew is in school in the Philly area. He attends every other week. He just finished his second 2 week quarantine due to exposure at school. It is working to an extent but the month of quarantine was really hard on an 11 year old.

Your retort is weird...truly.

I’m so relieved this is going forward. Praying positivity will stay below 10 and we can keep it up all winter. I know it’s a long shot but so far so good!

Yikes. Back up to 314/100,000 and 8% today.

So many people still do not understand how metrics work, it’s scary

+1. Also, counting positive tests is a dumb metric anyway. Are these people even sick?

This is a grave mistake.

Western Maryland opened their schools in the fall and had hospitals at capacity a few weeks ago, with patients being flown in to neighboring MD counties. The rest of MD did not open public schools and their hospitals stayed below capacity.

Elsewhere in the world, apart from South Korea, Japan, and such place, opening schools has ALWAYS been followed by a viral surge.
