So.. why no homestead deduction for DC residence, and taking it for the MD residence then? |
Do you're saying he lied on his MD taxes? The guy is running for public office. It's our business. |
Mind our own business? He’s the one who decided to run for elected office, and he’s not doing a very good job at it. |
The signatures were challenged by his opponent Mary Lord, turned out to be fraudulent and he was booted from the ballot. So he helped elected Ashley MacLeavy to spite Lord. https://washingtoncitypaper.com/article/328310/patterson-promises-writein-challenge-for-state-ed-board/ |

Let's be clear. Patterson helped get the pro-trump candidate elected.
He shouldn't even be on the ballot in DC. |
|
I bet the OP did not just arbitrarily go down this road of investigation...
... too bad that voters who don’t read will actually believe that there’s an issue here. The man has been a bonafide DC resident since 1999. Asking anyone who lives on the block they will tell you he and his wife and younger kids live there and BEEN living there since then. He has an older adult daughter now as well so YALL need to mind ya Business!!!! |
Umm, aren't elections our business? Is the man honestly paying DC and Maryland taxes or not? We made a big stink about Trump's, wouldn't taxes in regards to residency also be fair game? All these posters (or are they just one) claiming how innocent the man is all ignore the taxes issue. That's the ONLY question people are asking here and the ONLY question the candidate his "supporter(s?)" won't touch. |
| If y’all want to see some legal analysis just wander over to twitter. Folks are piling on. I feel bad for this dude, but he asked for it when he decided to run for office. |
That's very convincing, but you probably need more random caps and exclamation points. Very close to convincing me to vote for him. Very close. |
Dude bought a brand new house in PG 4 years ago. No one lived in it before him. Knock off this "inherited" nonsense. |
Not a twitter user, can you send a link or tell me what to search for? |
Yeah, lets stop talking about Patterson's legal violations as he runs for public office, for the second time, and instead talk about how he works to help skim millions of dollars from DC residents while, providing the most cut rate education possible, fighting to ensure there is zero public oversight of our children's education, works somewhere that covers up child predators, all while reinforcing school segregation that has done our community so much harm. But tell me again about which conversation we SHOULD be having? |
Are you saying he is also committing voter fraud by inventing these people? It does seem odd that parents would name their twins Jacque and Jacquelyn, but to each their own I guess. The Lashanda and Lashandra is just kinda unlikely though so maybe you're right. It could be voter fraud in addition to the tax fraud and residency fraud that he is committing. |
Buncha threads about this, but this one seems to have the most attention along with replies from Patterson. https://twitter.com/nathanluecking/status/1313505759070740481?s=21 |
His response on twitter to claiming the MD home is his primary residence: "That was a mistake at time of purchase; the MD agency has been contacted and correction has been made." But how could someone go so long without noticing they are overpaying their DC property tax? (And do we want someone who doesn't pay attention to that kind of detail in elected office?) Does Maryland automatically tell DC to remove the homestead deduction when you claim primary residence there? Or would he intentionally have to un-claim the DC Homestead Deduction? |
