So you mean to tell me 6 people are crammed into a 1200 square foot house when he has a mansion in PG county? If anyone who believes this guy lives in DC with 5 other people I have some swamp land to sell you

Actually 7. According to his campaign website, he lives in DC with his two kids. Seven people in a 3 bedroom 1200 sq ft house when a house thats more than twice as big is just up the street.

So... best case scenario he has the rest of the family in MD and he's only committing tax fraud. Maybe the homestead deduction on the MD house is better than what he'd get on the DC house.

Either way, we don't need someone with questionable ethics on the SBOE.

I think we are forgetting what this work is all about. We are talking about where he lives instead of about his work. But that isn't being brought up because you all are messy and petty. Some of you all do not have anything better to do with your time. Petty politics don't educate children. Let's stay focused on who we are doing this work for... the children of the city. You all hate the thought of this man winning more than you all want these children to have fair and impartial education! DO BETTER!

Do you hear how stupid you sound? His twin sister? And I am guessing Lashanda and Lashandra are both his wives? Maybe before you start hating on this man, do your research. If not, you will just make yourself look as ignorant as you just above.

He didn't answer the question. No one said it's a problem to own two homes. The problem is claiming that the MD home as a primary residence for tax purposes but claiming the DC home for election residency.

They lack of answer on that and artificial defensiveness makes it pretty clear that there's something fishy going on that he's trying to cover up. Seems like a pattern with him.

Yep. Last time he ran for office, fraudulent signatures on his nomination forms got him kicked off the ballot. Years before that’s he received multiple fines with the election finance board for fine related to tardy or missing finance reports - some of which have never been paid.

I believe most posters have been talking about integrity. It may not matter where the man lives, but it matters whether a man is honest.

I just voted for this guy, without knowing much about him, because he has the Washington Post's endorsement.

Wow. Just wow.

Some of you are very very very petty.

I really hope that none of you ever have to experience caring for a family member with :

- A a long term illness
- sobriety issues
- Providing hospice for a parent

The guy is running for an unpaid school board position , not mayor. Why all the fuss?

From The Washington Informer:

“ When I first moved to Washington, DC, 25 years ago, I was a single father with a little girl. At the time, Ward 8 didn’t have any grocery stores, a single sit-down restaurant or any place for my daughter to play. While the rest of the city enjoyed the very things that make a community strong, Ward 8 went without. So, I rolled up my sleeves and went to work. I was elected to serve as the advisory neighborhood commissioner in my neighborhood and I begam working with residents and other community leaders to assist in building the Town Hall Education Arts & Recreation Center (THEARC). We worked with Mayor Anthony Williams to get the Giant grocery store built, replace the check cashing place with Andrews Federal Credit Union, and rebuild the Douglass Stanton Dwelling into a mixed-use affordable housing community. It didn’t matter that my first elected office was an unpaid “advisory” position, it was about organizing a community around the common good. I’ve always believed that it’s not the power of the position you hold, but about empowering the people you lead. For the past 10 years, I have been working as a leader in public education at Rocketship and KIPP DC to ensure students and parents have quality education options in their community as well as amplifying community and parent voices in our schools.”

If this is true why did you decide to use this forum and not go to the Washington post? This makes me think that this is not true and they just want to create doubt.

They live in the SE house and have had several family members move in and out for periods of time when the family members were on hard times over the years. I know this for a bonafide fact.

He cuts the lawn, seen his beautiful wife going back and forth on errands, they live there.

Regarding the other house, there could be a boatload of reasons why they have it, including inherited from death of a family member etc.

Y’all need to mind your own business!

We can start another thread on his poor policy positions or we can have it out right here. He's aligned with Trump-party Ashley Macleay. He worked hard to get her elected to the SBOE last cycle. Him and his "D"FER buddies are a vote for corporate backed "education reform" that isn't actually helping kids as much as it's enriching their backers.

So I dislike him on his policy positions, his lack of integrity, and frankly, on a personal level too. I have a strong dislike for gaslighters. It's a form of bullying and he reeks of it.

Anyone can go in and challenge signatories in a ballot... it happens ALL the time , it doesn’t mean they are fraudulent , they’ve just been challenged.

Why do y’all uppity DCUM folk care so much about this???
