| Explain the homestead deduction on your MD property, and not on your DC property then please. |
As a DC voter, I have to say that this overly defensive/aggressive response really turned me off. Either there really is an issue here re the residency fraud, or Mr. Patterson cannot handle the slightest questioning without overreacting. Either way I don’t think I want him in elected office. |
If you're a real DC resident, there's no reason not to take the homestead deduction - especially if you're having financial troubles. You can save thousands! The only reason not to do it would be being afraid of an audit/penalties and it actually isn't your real home residence. It just doesn't make sense to me at all. Is there an accountant or a financial expert who can tell me why someone would do this? |
| Glad he replied. Some people have A LOT of time of their hands. WTF |
How was that aggressive or an overreaction from people accusing him on an Internet forum of committing a crime? He was pretty calm and rational. You seem to be the unhinged one with an ax to grind for no apparent reason. |
This is all well and good Jacque, but does not explain why you are claiming principal residency in MD on your PG county and state property tax records. You had 4 years to straighten this out. |
He didn't answer the question. No one said it's a problem to own two homes. The problem is claiming that the MD home as a primary residence for tax purposes but claiming the DC home for election residency. They lack of answer on that and artificial defensiveness makes it pretty clear that there's something fishy going on that he's trying to cover up. Seems like a pattern with him. |
See this explanation makes sense if extended family were staying in your DC property, but why buy a half million dollar home near the PG/Charles border that is 3x the size of your DC residence for extended family to stay? |
Wait, so when reassuring us that you can legally run in DC you admit to tax fraud in MD? Bold move, sir. |
| It's kind of an open secret that his sister-in-law Lekicia Johnson is the one who actually lives at the DC address. She even listed as her address when she donated to his campaign. That's the extended family - they are living the DC house. |
Wait, so he has his sister-in-law, him, his wife, his two kids in a 1200 sq foot townhouse when he owns a 3600 sq foot palace in MD? Nope. I call BS. |
| At least Patterson isn't staying logged in here like the Trump-wing candidate he worked on getting elected last time. It would be funny to see more turkey-neck drama. |
I'm strongly opposed to Orange rejoining Council, but I've no idea what you mean by clearly unoccupied. I told him I support Paid Family Leave when I rode by on Sunday as he was getting into his car. (Most of his talking points at the debate were against it) |
| Where does your twin sister, Jacquelyn, live Jacque? |
| It looks like Jacque, his twin sister Jacquelyn, and his sister in law Lekicia Johnson all live at the same address on 21st st SE. |
