Child free women trying to co-opt Mother’s Day

As are parents who think anyone else wants to hear about their children ad nauseum. And there are more of you, so we get to hear about little Brayden’s “achievements” a lot more than you have to listen to us talk about our great trips or lazy weekends. So shut it.

I know several women who are child free by choice and spend the other 364 days of the year railing against children and families and going on about how it’s better to be child free. Then Mother’s Day comes around and they’re all over social media wishing themselves a happy Mother’s Day because they are “dog moms.” Just stoppppp.

Hahahaha!! How insecure do you have to be to feel threatened by people posting "happy mom (dog) day to me!"
???? Lmao

Op here. Wow wow wow this was NOT where I was going with this at all. My specific complaint was about the child free by choice people trying to co-opt Mother’s Day because they “mother” their pets/plants. Women who have experienced miscarriage/still birth deserve all of our compassion and respect on Mother’s Day and every day.

Thank you, OP.

My daughter died, on Mother’s Day. I don’t care if there is another month dedicated to infant loss, this day is hard for me and I’m sorry if I need support from friends and family to get though this day.

Dog mom is so stupid.
That said I haven’t seen any of that. The child free people usually post something about their mom or grandma.

Must we have this thread every year?

You have nothing for which to apologize. <3. You are a mother. You deserve to be recognized. You deserve to be celebrated. You deserve to be supported.

Mother's Day is a tough day for me, too.

So odd that someone who has a day dedicated to her is on this site b!tching about others on social media. Instead of you know enjoying the day with the people who made this day about her. Guess you’re having a lovely mothers day OP?

As someone who carried to term, I get 365 days a year. Yes, I only get a hand drawn card or some flowers on one of them, but I'm still far ahead.

Well, my mom hated being a mom (3 kids) and I have never wished her a happy mothers day, or ever sent a card.
