Alison Roman slams Chrissy Teigen and Marie Kondo in interview

Anonymous
I'm no Chrissy Teigen fan. I think people conflate her social media sass and "clap backs" with her being an insensitive, non-feeling celebrity. I mean she publicly called Donnie a p*ssy *ss b!tch. Some would think someone that bold wouldn't really care what others thought or said about them. She's been pretty vicious on social when people have been out of pocket and said mean and hurtful things to her. I think in this instance deep down, the comments stung because truthfully... you know how many people who are trained culinary experts and chefs would kill her her opportunities. Like Ayesha steph-didn't-give-me-a-dime Curry, she knows deep down inside that being John Legend's wife has its perks.

That said, Allison Roman's comments were totally uncalled for and especially hurtful. She just didn't need to go there and reveal her deep-seeded resentment for how anyone secures a bag.

I don’t see Chrissy trashing other women for their success. Alison Roman messed up big time.

Gotta call BS. Celebs are not chefs. Alison Roman is a trained chef. Lynne Rossetto Kasper wrote her own cookbooks and didn’t whore herself out with a Target line built by Chinese child laborers like Chrissy. She has no moral authority here.

Looks like Alison found this thread.

Nope. I don’t particularly like Alison Roman, either. But I am skeeved generally by the mass consumerism of the American public, the food network, and pseudo-celeb chefs. Chrissy Teigen is not a chef - her food is crappy - and this is the same critique I would make of Sandra Lee, Rachel
Ray and sundry. Marcella Hazan, she isn’t.

Yes, but the point is Alison Roman didn't call out Rachael Ray or Martha Stewart or Sandra Lee or Wolfgang Puck or Gordon Ramsay or Bobby Flay.

Why do you think she went after Tiegen and Kondo and only them?

I don’t see any evidence that Alison Roman is a racist, sorry. She and Molly Yeh are close friends. Molly is entirely self-made and can actually cook. And Gordon Ramsay can actually cook.

Maybe her close friend needs to tell her to shut her mouth and stop insulting an executive producer on a show that hasn't even begun filming yet.

Ah the old "I have X friends, so I CAN'T be racist against X" defense

Of course you don’t. You also think Molly Yeh can actually cook. You are most definitely sorry.

Her food isn’t for you. Period. Not everything has to be for you. Unless you are living in the woods in a house that you made by your own hands with supplies you made with your own hands then have several seats. You sitting here on DCUM proves your own hypocrisy. You aren’t better than anyone. In fact, you are worst bc you actually think you are doing something different. Get rid of of everything you consume and purchased then come back (oh wait, then you wouldn’t be able to complain). You and Alison must be BFF.

But you are blind to the fact that Roman only called out a certain subset of people. Wake up.

Just curious - who else could she have called out? Serious question.

You sound annoying as hell.

I thought she was awesome and loved her relationship with Legend, her love of food and cooking, and her hilarious Twitter clapbacks. But I have to agree, I followed her on a Instagram and she's completely insufferable. Her voice alone is like the parody of Ivanka on SNL. "I'm a sexy baby with a sexy secret!" crossed with the vocal fry of a Kardashian. I'm shocked how annoying she is and should have stuck to laughing at her Tweets.

Herself, as she has a show and cook line coming out.

Then go back to that. She isn’t begging you to follow her on IG. In fact no one is. No one cares.

There's a list above a mile long of other women profiting off 'pseudo-celebrity cooking'. None of them came out of her mouth.

A half dozen are already named above. You just replied to a post with Sandra Lee and Rachael Ray. Ree Drummond would also be a big one.

I'm sorry, who is this loser who is trying to make herself famous by slamming other famous people?

So many other people she could make the same points about but whose success doesn’t seem to bother her.

Classic racist sentiment - ever heard anyone say "I can't be a racist, I have a black friend"?

I don’t see any evidence that Alison Roman is a racist, sorry. She and Molly Yeh are close friends. Molly is entirely self-made and can actually cook. And Gordon Ramsay can actually cook.
