From my understanding, he was a drug addict and she did it to try to get him to stop (which he’s, was very immature). He eventually overdosed. No clue if it was suicide. |
which was very immature* sorry, autocorrect. |
I just tried to read a little of her blog and gave up. Refusing to capitalize anything is such self indulgent sh-t. |
What a loser the lot of them |
I would put Neil Gaiman on the level of people like Diana Gabaldon, Stephanie Meyer (since you invoked her), Jonathan Franzen, Lianne Moriarty, and Margaret Atwood. Authors who are well known and who have seen some of their novels translated into major television/movie projects.
I'm not sure what distinction there is between saying his work is famous vs he is famous. I agree, you are more likely to have head of The Golden Compass books than who Phillip Pullman is. But Neil Gaiman has had multiple successful crossover works and TBH it does make you look kind of not really well read to have never heard of him. I've only read American Gods and his style isn't really my thing, but I'm aware of him and his contributions (American Gods BTW is NOT a children's novel, not by a long shot). He is a famous and well known author, and authors are generally less known than their work, which is why only a very few become personalities in and of themselves (ie Stephen King). Why is it important to you to declare him not famous? I guess the same reason why it is important for you, and your ilk, to declare him “pretty famous” and well known. Then continue to yell that anyone who doesn’t know him is uneducated. Seems like he is on a pretty high pedestal to you. But continue to go off. He is not as famous or well-known as those authors nor as Roald Dahl, as another poster compared. He's known to people who like the quirky, fantasy type. |
Flash mob wedding?
Open marriage? And he ditches his wife and kid during a global pandemic and flies to another country? Yet dcum defends HIM and paints her as crazy?!?!? If she’s truly crazy, then a responsible father would stay nearby to protect the kid—and her. This guy sounds like an ass. Ditches his first wife for something wilder, and they are vocal about their open marriage. It’s not a stretch to think he’s kinky and incapable of sustaining a marriage. He likely flew back to the UK for a GF or BF. Jerk. Poor kid. |
Check the dates. He and his first wife were history long before AFP showed up. And the fact that he moved to nowheresville after his first marriage ended to be near his kids makes me think he's not completely irresponsible. Something weird must be going on (weirder than their relationship in general) |
Just the same, he walked right into this mess with Amanda from day one |
Leaving the kid with her is 100% making me think worse of him, but you have to understand that Palmer is an absolute, unmitigated, unapologetic, nightmare human. Gaiman may be a cheater, an an egoist, but she's a catastrophe, in public, 24/7 |
Love his books! Can’t stand her!!!
Surprised so many here don’t know who he is! |
What I want to know is why she had a Patreon account for her, while she was married to him? |
Just read some of her recent tweets and it sounds like he’s in the wrong. |
May I ask why? Do you know them? If there marriage isn't working it makes sense to separate no? What do you care? |
|
Oh, yeah, the fact that he was ever attached to her makes me question his judgment. See also: Chabon & Waldman, Newsome & Guilfoyle |
