My constitutional rights have been violated and I want to sue.

Just to be clear, the Supreme Court has ruled on the issue a long time ago. Stopping the spread of disease is a legitimate reason for forcing people to stay at home/Quarantine.

As long as it is done solely to stop the spread of disease....

Jacobson vs Massachusetts wrote:“Upon the principle of self-defense, of paramount necessity, a community has the right to protect itself against an epidemic of disease which threatens the safety of its members.”

And it allowed the state of Massachusetts to force Pastor Jacobson to have a smallpox vaccine in order to ensure the safety of the community from an epidemic. This is considered settled law and judicial precedent. Based on that, you could try to sue the state governments which are enforcing the stay-at-home orders, but no judge or court will take your suit seriously or contradict the SCOTUS ruling. You would have to appeal this ruling all the way to the Supreme Court and hope that the current sitting court decides that the precedent was wrong. It is pretty unlikely. It sounds like you would just be tossing a whole lot of money out the window to lawyers. If you plan to do that, why don't you just give me $100K. I've told you the same result you'll get and have saved you months/years of time.

Cuomo threatened to sue the entire state of Rhode Island over their quarantine measures.

Anyone know what legal theory he planned to base the suit on?

The Constitution died long ago. Besides, if people think that others get to "give" them rights through a document they didn't sign, it's a lost cause anyway.

I wonder if you are the same nutter that posted this on my neighborhood listserv. Thankfully our moderator shut that crap down. You need help.

What state are you in?

For fun, I looked up the Virginia constitution. Which section will you reference?

I know plenty of lawyers who will happily take your money to lose that case for you

Just to be clear, there are a handful of insane or trollish people posting such drivel online, but the immense majority understand why we need to take precautions.

Bullshit. You're stuck in the house bored and you want to entertain yourself with this post.

You are so right, OP. I'm sure Judge Judy will agree.

"Judgment for the plaintiff. Bailiff, order everyone who works at every store and restaurant plaintiff patronizes to go back to work immediately. Because... her."

I'm at my wits end being told that I cannot visit friends and family who want to visit me, being told what I can and cannot buy, being told what stores need to be closed and what can be open, being told what I have to wear to leave my house. I feel like I live in a dictatorship. I have $$$ and want to sue with a good attorney who can get attorneys fees and damages for this garbage.

It’s for the greater good of mankind. Stop thinking of yourself. Selfish.

You could just set a pile of money in your front yard and post angry things on social media! It would be equally productive. As if you would ever win that sort of lawsuit...
