Cool. OP said "grocery store run." Guidance is to skip the grocery store runs right now. Just stay inside. This is what we've prepared for.

Who is "we"?

Last time I checked there is no need to stockpile food. That's just dumb.

+1 I haven’t heard this guidance either. And I don’t stockpile food.

This is like a bad movie where people don't believe the tsunami is coming when the audience can all see it over the idiot's shoulder.

Stockpiling is so that if you need to stay indoors, you have the supplies you need to do so. That time has come. Stay inside.

Sorry, not sorry. Not stockpiling food.

Italy did not run out of food, we won't either.

I'm not going to avoid a store at age 42, running 6 miles a day, with an excellent cardiovascular system.

If you are fat, high BP, have diabetes, or lung issues, be my guest and stay away from the store (not like you should be eating pantry food in that kind of condition).

Just give it up. I'm not staying away from the grocery store. Not happening unless it becomes the law.

Headed to the Asian grocery to grab a few items this morning that I could not find this weekend.

In particular basmati rice, shitake mushrooms, fresh mint, and I'm going to try to grab a case of mangos. My kids will eat 2 of those a day.

I’m heading to the store tomorrow. I bought food 2 weeks ago and we’re running out.

+ 1 People are begging fools like PP to stay home and explaining again and again that you can be healthy and fit and not get sick if you get the virus but STILL BE INFECTIOUS. So all the people working at the store, their family members, and in the hospitals slaving away taking care of the sick, all who will be exposed to this huge asshole are just irrelevant to her. Truly shocking level of self interest.

People like PP brings us all down. She clearly doesn't care, though. Sociopath.

The infamous UoW model is drastically reducing the number of deaths and hospitalization than previously expected.

I'm not stopping going to the grocery store. There's 850,000 people in my county and only a few hundred cases. I'm not sorry you are angry with me either because it doesn't make a difference. I have to feed my family. We are healthy people. We are not socializing with anyone else. The vast, vast majority of people who get the virus do not need hospitalization. The vast, vast majority of virus transfers are through family and friends, not from picking it up in the supermarket.

How do you think family and friends get it? And why do you think they are specifically saying, DON'T GO OUT -- DON'T EVEN GO TO THE GROCERY STORE.

You are a sociopath.

Drama llama. Bet you were also one of those excoriating people for stockpiling food.

I'd ask you to cite a source on that, but you can't, because our government officials have been lying over and over. I have zero faith in anything we're told at this point.

Further, since grocery stores are about all that's open anymore, that probably *is* where the new transmissions are going to occur.

I made do with canned today, but we could really use some more fresh fruit. It is more a morale issue than anything else.

Same here. But we're not going out. I'm exerting some self discipline at this point and not caving over fresh fruit vs canned fruit.

Well, I heard it from Dr. David Price, a pulmonologist at Cornell Weill Medical Center.

Who is MD is saying we shouldn't go out to the grocery store today?

If they were saying that, wouldn't grocery stores be closed instead of open??

Dr. Brix.
This past week, on a news conference. You don't even have to watch the white house news conference, it was on lots of standard news sites.

And no, grocery stores need to be open because people need to eat. Not because people think they won't get the virus if they go every other day or every week and browse around, because they are bored, extroverted, or have poor planning skills.

Social distancing is to slow the spread so that hospitals can deal with the load, not to prevent people from getting the virus.
