right And those women with long hair who touch up their roots every 4-6 weeks look really classy, eh? No, they're not living in the past at all! my first impression of women with short hair? confident and sexy! |
Wow, Penguinsix! Maybe you should stick to the flu forum! I'm put off by your first two comments. |
I agree. I can't wait to get old and totally give up on my appearance! I wish I could shave my head like a man. |
Op asked what people THINK. He's within his rights to share his honest thoughts. |
Given up on what? Trying to please men and other people? Wow, what century do you live in? |

I LOVE sexy short haircuts, and wish my face were thin enough to do it right now.
But what bothers me about this thread is the number of people who care what their fathers think! You're an adult now, and you are actually allowed to make your own choices! I love my father, but I got over worrying about his preferences for me LONG ago. Do what YOU want! |
Some women, like me, have super short hair because we have been fighting cancer, not giving up. There are quite a few of us out there. |
So it's OK to stereotype lesbians? All lesbians have short, spiky hair right? And they all wear combat boots. And all mothers are a mess. If these are his "honest" thoughts -and yours, too, perhaps - then you two should get out more. |
| A colleague of mine decided to do something really ballsy. She shaved all her beautiful black Asian hair off....ALL of it. She was bald for a month or two. She got soooo many compliments, and even inspired two acquaintances to do the same thing! |
| Did anyone bother to read that novella? |

I agree with PenguinSix. When I see a super short spiky haircut, the first thing that comes to mind is lesbian. I know she very well could be straight, but that's what comes to my mind.
It's kind of like when I see a man with a pink shirt, short shorts or a particular walk...I get the impression that he might be gay. Even if my first impression is wrong, I can't help what thoughts popped into my mind initially. |
Same thing happened to a lady I know-she had long beautiful hair. Everyone asked why her hair was gone and she said she shaved it because she had high blood pressure and her head was cooler without the hair. But think maybe it was some kind of punishment from her family. They are from a conservative culture and she used to tell us they thought she was acting too American. It was sad because she was friendly and talkative but after the hair was gone, she was quiet and kept to herself. |
| I think it is often very hard to pull off short hair or very short hair. Personally, I think the vast majority of women look better with well-cut/well-maintained long hair versus well-cut/well-maintained short hair. I am definitely biased though. I have medium-length to long hair, and I think it is one of my best, most feminine, and sexiest feature. |

Agreed. There are very few Halle Berrys in the world. |

I think it depends on what you define as "short." Do you only consider a boy-short, pixie cut to be truly short? Because yeah, that is really hard to pull off (thought it can be done, just not by me). But, for me, I look best with a chin-length bob. I still consider that short. The specifics of my cut can change based on the current styles (I've had several different bobs over the last dozen years or so), but basically, my best look is chin-length or even slightly shorter. It's not a mom cut (and it is definitely not gray, it's thick and healthy, etc.).
My hair is down past my shoulder blades now, for what it's worth, and I am enjoying that too, but it takes more effort to look pulled together. |
