What do think of women with short/ very short hair?

HA!!! and my butterfly clip in the back most afternoons in the summer is even worse! I agree. My 3-year old will say 'mommy...I don't like your hair like that and get angry and pull out the clip'.

I went a bit shorter, but looking at past pics of me and the short hair..I can never go all the way.

I think "where's the Subaru Outback???"

Just kidding. I think it can be incredibly stylish - it all depends on the cut and on how well it suits the woman's features. I had very short hair for quite some time, and I loved it (and I got compliments often). This was when I lived on the West Coast, however. I don't see many women with really chic, super-short hair here, for some reason.

I think short hair can be really stylish and I envy women who can pull it off.

I think you have to have a really pretty feminine face to do so, though. Little features. My big nose wouldn't work with short hair!

My dad is unusual for his age group and culture and LOVES short hair on women. My husband doesn't seem to care as a general matter (probably because he's fixated on breasts), but likes mine better long. I've had mine short and long (I've got curly hair) and LOVE it in a short pixie cut, as did just about everyone else. I think more women should wear their hair short. The typical American over 30 shoulder-length bob is really not very flattering. And Halle Berry definitely looked better with the short cut (although it's not like she can look bad).

The only thing that's stopping me from chopping off this mop and going really short is the maintenance! Right now, it's a bit below my chin and can grow and inch or so before it needs to be cut. Two inches and I really have to get it cut. That's about every 10 weeks. My friends with really short hair go every 4-5 weeks. I just can't get to the salon that often!

boy-short - don't like it at all unless you are drop dead gorgeous - like the celebs mentioned who pull off short hair.

Chin length bobs look lovely and put together, mainly because you have to style them.

Personally, I like short hair on women and think it is pretty. I think most men, though, whether secretly o openly, much prefer long hair on women. So your husband might not be thrilled with a cut.

I think some women look fantastic with short hair, and they make me wish I looked good with it. That said, I do see these women in the "mom hairdo" - remember how all women over 30 used to basically cut their hair short and it looked really matronly on most people? I still see that do, usually on the "mom jeans" set, and it makes me cringe.

for me, shorter hair is actually a lot harder to deal with. I like being able to throw mine into a ponytail and be on my way. my last haircut was too short and i always have my hair in my face and it annoys me.

Short hair and very short hair look best on thinner women. I had a ton of styles when I kept short hair. It was fun and I liked "styling" my hair. I was told I looked beautiful and sexy...

More weight... I keep longer hair. I just think on larger women it puts an enphasis on the weight instead of the haircut.

At any rate.. short hair on women is NOT lazy! It definitely takes more work than long hair especially if you want/need to style it.

It really depends on the person's face, their body shape, and their height. Short hair is not for everyone. Most people in D.C. seem to like short hair. I think they believe they will be taken more seriously that way. But some REALLY should leave it long. So they'll be taken more seriously.

Any longer and it's not thick enough, it just looks scraggly. But he STILL goes on about how I should grow my hair out. Ass. We have a baby girl now and he better not pull this shit on her.

LOL I met all of my boyfriends when I had short hair, yet all of them claimed to prefer longer hair - I wonder why they were attracted to me when I had short hair?

Anyway, I LOVE having short hair - with the right cut, it can look cute and sassy, and it can make you stand out. I would get my hair cut short again in a heartbeat but, alas, I'm now too fat.

Me too! Whenever I gain weight I hide behind long hair. Can't wait to lose these 20-30-er, 40 lbs and cut my hair off agian!

I am 15 pounds overweight and I have short hair. I keep it short because that's what looks better on me. It doesn't have anything to do with my body weight, and everything to do with the shape of my eyes, face and hair texture. For some reason long hair makes my features look dragged down. I also have hair that looks thin and limp when long, but has lots of body when short.

So I say keep it short if that's what you like, no matter what your weight.

I don't believe longer hair looks better on heavy-ish women. It is like you are hiding behind it.

I am heavier and have short hair again. I prefer it short actually. It is not super short but I feel it is cute plus my hair actually does something. When my hair is longer it is flat and so hard to deal with.

Maybe the hair wasn't what sealed the deal.
