75,000 Pro-Gun Demonstrators in Richmond For "Lobby Day"?

Our side won and we get to decide what is legal or not. Sorry you hateful racist old republitards are losing and will be in prison soon.

It’s time to make all gun owners felons and lock them up if they don’t turn them in. We won’t need to go door to door because they will inevitably be caught or turned in by their neighbors and co workers. Our side has won and Virginia is going to stay blue forever.

No one needs guns anymore and especially no assault weapons.

Okay Millennial... There is a college age contingent headed down to Richmond from Fairfax. They are a diverse group - if you sort by ethnicity - but they are all proudly standing up for their constitutional rights. They are neither old nor hateful, but you lot have them very concerned for the future.
Reading your post I am hearing the cackle of a stock villain from a B movie. "Virginia will stay blue forever...Bwah hahaha...

Or took away a woman’s right to vote. You better believe I would be marching to the state Capitol for those things too.

Reasonable restrictions on guns are not unconstitutional. Even Scalia said so.

Many gun owners support common sense gun laws. What are you concerned about specifically?

What the heck is a "common sense gun law"? There are people on this forum whose idea of a "common sense gun law" is to melt them all down and make them into manhole covers. There are posters here who say that they want to confiscate all guns and put all gun owners in jail, and they think that's a "common sense gun law".

What I'm specifically concerned with are people who throw around words that they know nothing about, and want to put law-abiding citizens in jail because those citizens happen to enjoy the shooting sports. Hell, we've even got people on this forum who want to have KNIFE owners arrested.

I'm a gun owner, and I support common sense gun laws. But we've already got tons of common sense gun laws, and none of the proposals put forth by Governor Northam and his crew of idiots have anything to do with common sense.

I favor taking your guns away. You don’t need them. This isn’t Somalia, Yemen or the 1800s Wild West. We have too many legends in their own mind. You don’t need them for hunting....

Well, I guess you better get started kicking doors in and taking them from people.

Good luck. Sounds dangerous.

I realize you are a legend in your own mind, but you would fold like a cheap suit if the police or military came to disarm you. That’s not what’s going to happen, anyway — there will be a buyback.

This. Remember a few years ago when the reports estimated thousands pro confederate monuments and flagged would show to support keeping the monuments in Monument Avenue and about 10 showed up but 1,000 counter protestors showed up. The 10 protestors then ran away but their car wouldn’t start (because they could all fit in one car). So much negative press against RVA when in fact those 10 protestors were all from out of state while the counter protestors were locals. No Antifa.

No way will there be 75,000 pro gun protestors, or 7,500 or even 750. My money says under 20.

I have been on the other side on Lobby Day. There were more than 20 on that day, so I think more than 20 on a rather important Lobby Day.

I think it will be less than the estimate, but it could be in the thousands.

I doubt there will be 75k but have you seen the turnout at recent budget meetings? In true blue Fairfax it went into overflow and the hallways.

You don’t need them for hunting — grocery stores are plentiful. They serve about as much purpose in 2020 as a butter churn. That said, you can have as many muskets as you like.

Ugh, this again? So I suppose online speech isn’t protected by the 1A?

I’m glad idiots aren’t in charge of assigning rights.

A lot of our constitution, a document written in the 18th Century, is flawed and outdated. Free speech is absolute. You don’t need your stupid guns.

Wrong. Hilariously, stupidly wrong. Free speech isn’t absolute. Neither are gun rights.

The rest of your comment is equally dumb and won’t persuade anyone of anything.

Surely you jest. You think that there will be "under 20" people at the January 20 rally? You are out of your mind. There are busloads of pro-gun protestors coming from all over Virginia. 2 buses from Fairfax. 1 bus from Leesburg. 1 from Manassas. 1 from Winchester. There are buses from Norfolk, Hampton, Newport News and Suffolk, and buses from Roanoke and other points in SW Virginia. And this doesn't figure in the hundreds of guys that are driving and car-pooling.
I really have no idea how many people will be there, but if the total number of protestors that show up is less than 20,000 I'll donate $100 to the gun-control charity of your choice.

Brady Campaign or Everytown would be great. Thanks. If you are pro common-sense gun control, hopefully you are already donating to those organizations.

Even with the people you listed that's still under 1,000.

Young person here... lifelong gun owner... but just purchased my first AR-15, not just because I'm a hobbyist, but because of the threats against my rights building in VA. I'm not the only one, not by a long shot.

The type of society you are promoting in your post is a paranoid authoritarian police state. I hope you enjoy it.

You are a sucker for the gun lobby and for the NRA. You have behaved exactly as you were manipulated to behave. You gave them your hard earned money as they wanted you to do. Sucker.
