Remind me why we hate Jon Gosselin?

Her new dating show was a flop. She's such a terrible personality. Awful to watch. Terrible style. She looks right out of 1999. The hair is god awful.

Because she has full custody, she was able to put her child in a psychiatric facility and not inform the other parent? I didn't realize that was possible. Did the other kids not know where he was? Didn't they inform their father?

This is the part that makes no sense. Ive worked a lot of custody cases. Unless your rights are terminated you have a responsibility to keep healthcare and educational decisions duel informed. So even if Kate can make all the decisions she would have had to report his enrollment status to John assuming he had parental rights. He doesn't need custody to have access to this information.

How did she get full custody? Most states unless the other parent is truly a danger to the child, it’s 50/50.

Hmm idk. My oldest kid is from a former marriage and his dad never sees him and isn’t involved in his life whatsoever. Even though he has parental rights, there’s a lot that’s happened in my kid’s (now a teen) life that he’s never consented to, was informed of or knows about. He doesn’t know my child and would never make an informed decision in his best interest, even if he wanted to, because he knows nothing about my son.

Now I’m not saying that Jon is the same kind of father. And considering that Collin now lives with him, he clearly wanted to be involved. But if I was able to make all types of decisions without my son’s dad’s permission or knowledge, I’m sure it’s possible.

So, I understand how John got custody of Collin- but what about the other kid? Did the kids get to choose?
Also, how was her most recent filming of her kids illegal? Was it without their knowledge/consent?

Well, he has custody of two of them now. I wouldn’t write him off. Fighting with a personality-disordered person is not for the faint of heart.

Given how Kate treated Collin, I am on Jon's side. Any parent who would send their child away and basically abandon them and refuse the other parent contact is a truly awful person. She has worked hard to keep Jon away from the kids and to badmouth him to them.

Jon definitely went through a rough stage but overall I think he is a much better person.

Agree with all of this. A lot of folks, particularly men, go through a bit of a wild period after marrying young and getting divorced. Jon did it on a national stage. I’m not excusing his behavior but I’m not surprised by it either.

What Kate did to her kids is disgusting. It’s one thing to conceive twins (even then very high risk) it’s another to take illegal medicines to be a celebrity with sextuplets. Of course the babies suffered permanent damage in utero and later in life as TLC stars. Awful.

Kate had favorites and never treated the kids equally. Hannah was not her favorite.
