My DS dances and has taken ballet- he is not gay. If he was that would be fine too of course

But would more boys be interested in dance if there wasn't a stereotype that dancers are gay? It's a self-reinforcing belief that leads boys to avoid dance because it's looked down on as not masculine. |
That may be true in situations where there is social pressure not to do ballet. That the small number who pushes past the social pressure are more likely to be gay. However, in a situation where an entire Kindergarten class does creative movement or pre-ballet (the situation Prince George is in) the boys will grow up to be gay or straight in the same proportion they would have been if the class had martial arts classes in the same time slot. |

Ballet - at least, at the level it is taught at Prince George's school - is, actually, very good for every student's posture, movement control, agility and sense of rhythm. I'm positive none of those kids will grow up to be professional dancers since being a professional ballet dancer requires a set of genetic traits not many people in the world possess, but ballet lessons for kids, regardless of their inborn abilities, are extremely beneficial. Well more so than, say, football that half of his country worships.
But Lara Spencer and Co are too provincial to grasp that. |
| Just watched clip. It was a big deal. The audience burst out laughing when she got to ballet and she laughed along. Very few boys I know stick with ballet or gymnastics or even tai kwan past the early elementary years. |
Brian’s Instagram views on the GMA segment are approaching 600,000. I don’t know anyone who watches GMA, but people are definitely watching this segment. The story is not going away, GMA. |
So that makes it ok to laugh? You are DISGUSTING. |
So WHO CARES if they are gay? What's that to you? How does it impact your life? It sure as hell is going to impact the lives of little boys who stop doing what they love because they are being bullied or teased. I watched the clip and it's disgusting. Monday morning better bring a 5 minute apology and a retrospective on Baryshnikov. She also mocked the fact that he was doing computer programming; which is also insane but has much less potential for damaging consequences. STEM and kids coding classes are all the rage for both boys and girls. |
Also seemed to be laughing at computer programming. It just makes her (and the audience) seem like idiots. |
| They should be fired. I would love to boycott GMA but I never watched it in the first place. Lara is so stupid! |
|
Was there something else going on that they laughed at? It seems so weird that they burst out laughing at that point.
Ridiculous to say what she said, no matter what. -mom of a girl ballet dancer-they all work so hard. |
|
So what you idiot! You have completely missed the point. The point is it is not something to make fun of on or off national television, it perpetuates bullying boys who love dance. |

https://blindgossip.com/offhand-comment-freaks-out-network/
Network executives are freaking out over an offhand comment made by one of its TV correspondents one the air about a junior member of a famous family. You would not believe how this completely blew up internally! The isn’t just about [the correspondent]. This is about the entire network! They have been kissing up to the family for YEARS and were on the verge of scoring a big interview with [another family member] when this happened and now everything may be ruined. They were going to suspend [the correspondent] but now it looks like there will be a public apology and a team of people trying to repair things behind the scenes. My goodness! So much drama so early in the morning! |
