I never understood this line of thinking. All three of Tom Cruise’ wives came out alive and well ahead of their careers and/or finances prior to the marriage |
Not true at least in Kidman's case. Cruise tried to keep her from working in Hollywood again. Her biggest roles (Moulin Rouge!), To Die For and Oscar win movie (The Hours) were already in the works at the time of the divorce. The divorce came just before their 10 yr anniversary, which was widely rumored to have allowed Cruise to avoid a big payout to her. Her success over the next 20 years is from mostly from smaller budget films and only in more recent years she’s just getting her own stuff made by buying options and producing projects herself. So, yes, she came out alive but he wasn't a payday or ticket to Hollywood. Katie Holmes apparently went into the TC marriage wiser, got money sooner, grabbed her daughter and literally fled in the night to escape him. And her career? |
Nicole Kidman wasnt blackballed. After her divorce she starred in Cold Mountain, Stepford Wives, Bewitched, Golden Compass. Some of those movies may not have done well, but they were big budget movies where she was marketed as the headliner and she was one of the highest paid actresses in the mid-2000s. As for Katie Holmes, she’s not a great actress |
+100. It's the best show on television in my opinion. Aside from being eye opening, it's incredibly well done and well-produced. |
He seems really creepy, status obsessed (read: social climber) and full of ulterior motives, to me. |
? Jamie Foxx? He’s a very well established actor and Oscar winner for his performance as Ray Charles. Maybe you have him confused with another Jamie. |
+1 He apparently is incredibly warm and humble. |
Sure seems he preyed on and pursued his "friend's" ex wife because she's mega A lister's ex and she herself is A list tabloid fodder. He's just gross. |
Yeah. No. You clearly don’t know anything about Jamie Foxx. It’s a known secret that Katie perused him. |
Well I’d say Kidman never again was billed at Moulin Rouge/Satine heights of 2000 and I’ve heard TC worked to keep her away from big movie companies. But the point is this: TC and their marriage did her no favors. It’s no secret that he literally ran her out of town w/o warning and kept their children from her. He and his cult are the king of creep. |
Of course it is - people wondered how she got away from him. She certainly didn't stage her exit in an effort to stage a tell-all. ![]() |
DP. Really? Links to that "known secret"? |
Familiarize yourself with Scientology and get back to us. Katie Holmes literally planned her escape from their marriage with the help of her father to get away from Tom Cruise safely with her child. |
I always liked that he’s such a gentleman with her. I think they seem like a nice couple though they’ve been dating for so long now - what’s the hold up? ![]() ![]() |
There is no basis to this line of thinking consider that for years most people never knew they were together and they've always gone to great pains to hide it. Preying on her for her status and then not using that status for any benefit are completely incongruent actions. |
