OP, here.
DD accepted to RM and CAP, waitlisted for STEM. Congrats to everyone who got in and good luck for people still waiting!! |
| Did anyone get a CAP rejection today? We heard from other programs but not CAP. |

Blair WL
RM yes |

RMIB yes
Didn't bother applying elsewhere. |
| Look like a big waitlist pool |
| Dc got accepted to RM, Blair, PHS Ecology. Good luck to everyone. |
Sure I am. That's why I raised them to be thoughtful and kind. I only posted a few times and wouldn't have followed up if you weren't so vociferous about telling others what to do. Nothing I've said is insensitive. What is insensitive is to tell other parents what they can or can't tell their own kids. FWIW, I only posted to say let people make their own choices and to say I hope they will choose wisely. You seem to have a bee in your bonnet! Yikes! |
| WP for Humanities is Poollesville. |

RMIB yes. Only application.

It helps If you post your own scores too ...
CogAT Global V 51/64 (98%) Q 50/52 (99%) NV 53/60 (99%) We got a CogAT flag for the relatively weak verbal score ... Accepted to all three at PVHS: Median raw (percentile) Global Ecology V 47 (73%) Q 51 (89%) NV 55 (98%) Humanities V 46 (74%) Q 52 (91%) NV 44.5 (98%) SMCS V 49 (76%) Q 50 (90%) NV 48 (98%) (Note - Verbal median is higher for SMCS than Humanities, and Quantitative median is higher for Humanities than SMCS. Go figure ...) RMIB - Waitpool V 53 (70%) Q 47 (88%) NV 45 (97%) Clearly, the relatively weak verbal score made the difference here between admit and wait pool for RMIB. |

I think the test scores are part of the whole picture, together with recommendations, essays, standardized test scores like MAP-M and MAP-R, grades, and whatever else, not the be-all and end-all.
DC was accepted to RMIB with: V 54 (87%) Q 40 (42%) NV 42 (62%) Essay 4/6 (median was 4) CoGAT global was: V 54/64 (99% for both age and grade) Q 40/52 (89% age and 90% grade) NV 42/60 (97% both age and grade) Composite age: 97% Composite grade: 98% But that's the data we have and can compare. We can't compare the rest of the information the committee looked at. And honestly at some point it's just like college or university these days -- it's just a crapshoot. They could probably swap out this kid who got in for that kid who didn't multiple times and make up an equally smart and successful class. |
Is the %ile score you posted your DC's "%ile Relative to Applilcant Group" score? |
That's relatively weak Is RM your home school? |
Agreed. It's not just the cogat scores, but I don't know what the weight of each factor is. |
