I'm incredibly tired of people trotting out "MAGA" or some variation of it whenever they're looking for someone to blame. Yes, I'm looking at you, DCUM.

MAGA= supporting white nationalism

Well, that's certainly what liberals have taken it to mean. Apparently, wearing anything that says "MAGA" means you support white nationalism. Look at the crazy vape shop employee. Or the wackos who insist that boys wearing MAGA hats are "white nationalists". Honestly, for a group of people who constantly tells others how "smart" you are, you're all really quite stupid.

You are in denial about how structural racism works. All of Trump’s policies center around keeping or increasing advantage for whites. When the top person in power enacts policies that hurt people of color (not to mention gay people and women) that is the epitome of racism. Prejudice plus power is the simplistic way of looking at it.

To support Trump is to support racism. Whether you consider yourself personally racist or not doesn’t matter.

I thought they were involved because he allegedly received the threats through the mail?

I haven't read through all of the comments on both threads (political and entertainment), but did he post his whereabouts? In other words, was he tweeting about his "travels?" (I know he was sent a threatening letter prior to the incident.)

Either way, he apparently had some sick stalkers, which should make any public figure fearful.

There is so much about this story that makes no sense.

First, the idea of two people who just happen to be around and recognize this man - and they were out in absolutely frigid weather with a rope and bleach.
They were wearing ski masks, but supposedly Smollett knew they were white?
What was Jussie Smollett wearing in this weather? If he was dressed for the weather, how did his attackers recognize him?

Then, the TMZ story and the police report.
TMZ reports that his attackers say, "this is MAGA country."
Initial police reports dispute this claim. Once the TMZ story goes viral, the police do a follow up interview with Smollett.
After this interview, police confirm that Smollett says he heard this.
Seriously?

Area video cameras have not captured any image of the attackers.

And, the tweets Smollett has made in the past few years indicate he is no fan of Trump or of Trump supporters.

This whole story does not add up.

I believe he made up the story and didn't even think about surveillance cameras. The police saying that the cameras captured no images is their polite way of saying it didn't happen.

I don’t believe this happened. Classic fruitcake story- like that black actress who accused lapd of brutality and then was proven to be a liar.

Isn’t it arctic cold levels in Chicago when this incident occurred?

It is really terrible. I didn't realize that attacks against people for being gay are not classed as hate crimes. That must change.

This is really horrible and I find the rush to say it must not have happened disgusting. A person was brutally beaten and the first thing people do is try to pick apart the story to not believe it.

GROSS.

Np- I’m sorry but it is a very fantastic tale. It just doesn’t sound plausible. I will admit I do hope it isn’t true. I don’t want these things to be true.
