In your story, you agreed as a couple. |
Not stupid, and not sluts. One ended up with an advanced degree from an ivy. All married well and are financially set after white collar careers. They were however very comfortable being naked. Super comfortable. I had to remind them to cover up when we were staying at a beach house together and my fiancée and his friends were with us. But these girls did not sleep around. You people should know that your white collar husbands who work downtown throw around a lot of cash during the day at Camelot. It's pathetic. |

Did you go to Camelot?
I knew girls who worked there in the late 90s. They were cool girls. Troubled, but cool. You should hear what strippers think of people who go to clubs. You should be embarrassed, op. I'm embarrassed for you.
Me too, and the bolded part exactly.
Can you share what they think ? I went there once when I turned 21 ( female ) just out of curiosity but it seems like I was offered the job by security guys at the door . My friends were laughing their asses off. I satisfied my curiosity and no lap dances for me . |

Cool slut-shaming, bro |
Let me know if you ever have an opening in a beach house share.

(shrug) If you have no problem with dancing naked for money, and find such people worthy of respect, then I encourage you to pursue that for yourself (if you are female), your daughter, or your wife (if you are male). You do you. |
Uh huh. Sure they aren't stupid sluts. If you believe that, you'll believe anything. They are messed up in the head. They were abused as children, and seek out abusive relationships as adults. They associate with scum. They sleep with scum. Many of them are addicts. The fantasy that they went on to Ivy League educations, white collar jobs, and stable marriages in the suburbs is just that, an inane fantasy. Stop trying to normalize a foul industry that exploits women. |
Another former Camelot girl here. Just wanted to mention, Camelot has never offered private/lap dances, so the OP definitely wasn't there. Also, I do not care about your opinion of the part-time job that provided me a six figure salary during my early 20s, PP. |
You are intentionally misreading my post. People were curious about what dancers think of customers, I'm telling you my opinion from my lived experience. I did not enjoy most female customers because of the issues mentioned above: jealousy, thinking the rules don't apply to them, etc. And yes, usually the female customers that acted the most jealous and crazy were sad middle aged frumps with loser husbands. Did I say all men were losers? No. Some men are losers, specifically the men that came to strip clubs with these sad, sad ladies. I don't think finding this behavior unpleasant makes me damaged or trafficked (again LOL.) I will say, anecdotally, that I usually didn't see this kind of jealous, weird behavior from attractive, secure women. I find it interesting how a few of you seem so hell bent on posting this tired stereotype about how dancers are damaged, trafficked, slutty, etc when there are at least two or maybe three former dancers in this thread saying, No, this is not the case. Trust me, all of you have at least one former stripper in your extended circle and you have no idea. |
Man what did a stripper ever do to you? Sounds like this is pretty personal for you Pp. Maybe seek therapy? |
| Put a pole in your bedroom and then charge him for a lap dance. |
I agree with PP that it is a foul industry that exploits women. I have nothing against the women. In fact I feel sorry for them that they were exploited and somehow felt the only way they could make money was to sell their bodies/remove their clothes for money. This industry objectifies women. It's bad for the feminists movement. Women and men shouldn't have to sell their bodies to make a decent living. |
| I have a hard (heh) time thinking every stripper is an Ivy Leaguer with no issues about men at all. |
Real question: do you know of any other job that a young woman without a degree can do part time that pays a living wage and also offers flexible scheduling so she can pursue an education or family obligations? I'll wait. The whole world objectifies women. Stripping is a way to obtain personal benefit from the way women are objectified by all industries anyway. How do you feel about college aged women who go to bars and get wasted, let men grind on them, and dance on top of the bar, all for free, and then probably go home with someone and have sex? Please believe that there is no reason for you to feel sorry for me. When I think about not having student loans, and the fact that I was able to afford live in a nice, safe area when I was in college, and having continuous health insurance throughout my early 20s with no family support....well...exploited is certainly not the word I would use for myself. |
