| A national title? A USYSA national title? |
| Yeah, but should you try to win at all costs? Certain players barely see the field. I am taking 10 minutes a game. If you don’t want to develop them, just cut them. Keeping players just as practice players is a terrible thing. |
I hope this was sarcasm. Playing to win at the youth levels is exactly why US Youth Soccer is a joke and Scottish soccer for that matter. |

I have no doubt that they're recruiting, but gimme a break. No one is going to leave DC United (voluntarily) for BRYC. No one is going to leave Arlington DA (voluntarily). LMVSC would look like a lateral move, but I don't know that BRYC would like the players they get from LMVSC. Just stop. They have a good team at the 07B level and their best bet for leveling up would be trying to pick off 07s from SYC whose parents are disgruntled about the coach/TD situation. But seriously--if a kid is anything more than a marginal player on any of the teams mentioned (including SYC), why in the world would you go to BRYC? So you can play half your games in the Carolinas, with the bonus of parents being treated like sh!t by the TD? The older boys' teams are already established and doing well, but for anyone 05 and younger, the only reason you would go to BRYC is because you can't make it at any of the other good clubs. |
| Pp is right. Boys ECNL needs a mass exodus from the DA like the girls had to be successful. Until then, BRYC boys are just another club of many in the area. |
PP here. We thought about BRYC, DSes trained with them for a bit and were offered spots. We've also trained with a couple of the area DAs. The quality level isn't even close in the younger age groups (05 and younger). Can't really say for the older boys. If there was a mass of Boys ECNL clubs in the immediate area, maybe would have considered it. But McLean and BRYC really got hung out to dry when those ECNL geniuses created the "Mid Atlantic" division. It's beyond ludicrous to travel 5 hours to a league game when there are literally no fewer than 20 teams within a 30 minute drive that can beat you. Binning the 2 VA teams with the Carolina's is going to damage their efforts to expand. If four or five clubs all go in together, maybe it would work. But who wants to be the 3rd NOVA club to tell their players that they have hundreds more dollars in travel, hotels, etc, just for league play? Beyond that, ECNL is just a cute little patch if BRYC's 05 boys draw with LMVSC's second team (Rush for the Cup, Sep 2018). |
The funny thing is that those parents think that their kid is automatically going to be better if they leave their current club b/c they will now be playing in ECNL. The club and competition doesn't automatically change your child's ability. |

If you want to know where the crazies are look no further than this thread.

Discussion here seems pretty reasonable to me. Maybe that's because I'm one of the crazies...? On a separate note, do you just look around on the internet all day for people to call out? |

BRYC are playing in a national league with the best teams from multiple states at u13+
There is a club for everyone in this area and if you're kid is a B team level player BRYC is not for you. |
What if my kid is a B player on an A team? Maybe there is a chance? |
|
BRYC has a clear approach of development until u15 (not winning) and then winning & development in the older age groups. Some people are criticizing winning at the older age groups?
They have multiple players going to top universities on both boys and girls sides That is the end goal of a Youth soccer club, so rather than judge an 05 or 07 team can we look at the end product. |

You are over simplifying the issue of the younger vs older, at least on the girls side. Until the current younger become the older, there is little way to substantiate those claims. |
