The girls head coach this year covers 8 - 9 teams as head coach, brought on many parents to assist as coaches. Fees have increased. Only a matter of time. |
the girls program is better than the boys but I would not classify it as great. |
| How are the BRYC U13 ECNL and Composite girls teams doing? Poorly? - - - They are playing in a Cherry Blossom Tournament run by MSI Classic next month and they will Compete entirely against MSI Classic teams - - - What do they think they will learn by beating up on a bunch of girls who practice half as much they do? |
| I am surprised that BRYC ECNL is playing in the MSI tournament. The level of play is competitive but more for an NCSL team. I actually am not sure if they even allow travel teams. |
| Yeah... But they will win! |
The boys u12 pre ECNL team is about get a complete overhaul at the end of spring. the recruiting (poaching) process has already started . Look for more than a few kids coming over from Arlington as DC united academy players move to there. As well as a few LMVSC coming in too. |
Why would anyone want to join a team who will be playing in a league with two teams from South Carolina, three teams from North Carolina, and one team from Virginia (McLean)? Crazy. |
What are your sources for that player movement from those specific clubs? |
Both BRYC teams are on the Teams Accepted list. |
So what usually happens to the players already there ? Do they move them down or cut them ? |
Usually they are given the option to move down, but, many players tend to either look for other clubs or its pretty common at that age they stop playing competitively at that high of level. It tends to be more of a blow for the parents. They get the reality check that my ds is so elite after all. the boy usually take it ok. While the parents feel embarrassed and left out of the mix. |
I think original poster may be BSing. No way the coach would tell him that they are recruiting especially if OP is a parent with kids on the team. |
I would agree with that. However that particular team is on the smaller size physically and you can only squeeze so much out of them. This is where you see kids starting to develop both in skill and physically maturing in size. Ive heard the TD over there is hungry to win another national title. The talk has been the current 07s aren't what they feel they need to make a strong push and the need to reload that group. |
| That right there tells me to stay away from that club. |
It's all about winning on both the boys and girls sides. That's the scottish / european way --- not this pansy american way that is concerned with developing the kids. kids should be playing to win, and if you can't accept that, you should move on. |
