Hesitant to date a short guy

I’m not really a physical person I don’t have a huge list of physical traits a guy must have like some women do. If I am attracted to you I am. I’m more interested in character and personality. I never really thought of height and have dated shorter guys before. I’m kind of confused about my feelings.

So what are you looking for? A relationship as a whole, or purely sex?
from him I’m not sure. In general [b] I would like to marry again but I need sex to be a part of a long term relationship and good sex[i].

Being short doesn’t preclude him from good sex? Although it may in your mind.

That is true . I did not mean to say being short meant bad sex. It’s more the thought of sex with him does not excite me most of the time.

+1. but I am 4’11” and the only “men” shorter than me are in elementary school.

I wouldn’t date a guy who is under 5’ and all my shorty girlfriends won’t either.

I have a gf who is 4’9” whose DH is 5’3” and she is always worried about her 13 yo DS being under 5’5” but not worried about her 5’ tall 15 year old DD. It’s hard being a short guy

Sorry, but this made me laugh ? It’s true though. I’m 5’3” and already there are girls in 4th grade who are my height or taller. My MIL is 4’11 and my 8 year old is 4’8”. She produced my 6’1” husband so one never knows about genes...

OP here I actually think this might be part of my issue. I used to work with children some not much shorter than he is. He is short and also very slim. His face is manly but maybe to my mind his build is too childish.

So throw him back into the pond for another woman who will appreciate him. Why hang on?

Because I like him as a person he’s got great qualities which I have missed in men since my husband. I know how important that bond is in a long term relationship

Wish I could unsee this.

And I must be hormonal because all I can think are dirty thoughts!

Has OP had the short guy in the sack?

Just strive to balance the vanity with common sense, and hopefully you do not end up regretting letting a great guy pass you by.

I am just as vain as you are OP. BAck in the day, I would not have given a short guy the time of the day.

There was this time when I dated a 6'5 guy just because he was 6'5. What a disaster that relatioship was! It was by far the worst relationship that I have ever had.

Luckily I ended up marrying a wonderful guy who is quite tall.

However, knowing what I know now about how shitty most marriages are, if I had to go back, and I met a short guy who checked most of the boxes on my list, I will give it a try. I must admit, he will have to work harder than a tall guy(be nicer and cuter-I'd take kit harrington please)

You have a strange family tree if your daughter produced your husband

Anywho, was at a wedding on Saturday and was followed all night by a bridesmaid I'd met two hours earlier.

She thought you were an unattended child and was concerned. #kidnappers

[Boom boom! I'll be here all week!]

Honey, you are 42 and not married? That says it all

Married with two kids. Jut celebrated our 8th anniversary. I was speaking from my single days.

So he makes a good friend. Why are you overthinking this? You are not attracted to him. Move on unless you are desperate.

Is a 4’9” adult technically a little person? Not all little people have dwarfism?

Not everyone who is 4’9” has dwarfism which is a genetic mutation. However, anyone who is 4’9” and under can join Little People of America.

I don’t consider 5’6” all that short; I’m 5’3” and wouldn’t have blinked an eye. OP said that this guy is under 4’11”, which is highly unusual for an adult male.

Thank you.

Oops, meant under 5 feet. Still very unusual.

I’ve been attracted to short men who are muscular/stocky, but really short, slim men are too much like me. I need the masculine to my feminine.

5'6" may on the shorter side for a man, but I'm tall and don't view it as a reason not to date someone. But OP said 5'. That's quite a difference when the woman is 5'7".
