Hesitant to date a short guy

5 ft 6 inch guy here and never in my 42 years have I been denied a date. And I only date hot, slim women. And no I'm not rich.

Everyone has a preference (not Asian, not fat, big breast, blonde, no kids, etc and whatever) and that is fine

Honey, you are 42 and not married? That says it all

In other words, don’t feel bad about overlooking short guys.

Married with two kids. Jut celebrated our 8th anniversary. I was speaking from my single days.

Anywho, was at a wedding on Saturday and was followed all night by a bridesmaid I'd met two hours earlier. Yes she was tipsy, but she was hot and slim. My wife was not happy. But my wife is hotter.

Strange though, that most people overlook their other preferences (kind, funny, friendly, etc) for the physical, and then complain they can’t get someone who is kind, friendly, funny...

+1. but I am 4’11” and the only “men” shorter than me are in elementary school.

I wouldn’t date a guy who is under 5’ and all my shorty girlfriends won’t either.

I have a gf who is 4’9” whose DH is 5’3” and she is always worried about her 13 yo DS being under 5’5” but not worried about her 5’ tall 15 year old DD. It’s hard being a short guy

My girlfriend is 5'2", and her husband is the same, but her kids are taller than my kids (DH is 6'2"). It is hard to tell.

Being a 5’6” guy is a lot different than being a guy under 5’.

Exactly. You've never been denied a 1st date. Getting to the 2nd date and beyond is the challenge and since you're not married, that tells me something.

You sound very insecure...like you have something to prove.

OP here. The thing is sometimes I am attracted to him but that attraction usually stems from him being sweet. But if I think of him purely for sex the attraction is not there. I’m not really a physical person I don’t have a huge list of physical traits a guy must have like some women do. If I am attracted to you I am. I’m more interested in character and personality. I never really thought of height and have dated shorter guys before. I’m kind of confused about my feelings.

So what are you looking for? A relationship as a whole, or purely sex?

Ah, the wedding hookup. That’s not a realistic picture of someone’s dating preferences. Both sexes hook up with people of a different race than their normal preference. Women will sample a short guy just like guys will sample a heavy girl.

Sorry, but this made me laugh ? It’s true though. I’m 5’3” and already there are girls in 4th grade who are my height or taller. My MIL is 4’11 and my 8 year old is 4’8”. She produced my 6’1” husband so one never knows about genes...
