Those people are very rare deviations from the norm. They are rare enough that they are a clear exception and should not be taught as the standard. |

What’s the conservative fear/hate-mongering topic going to be tomorrow?
Already covered gangs and LGBTQ. Moving onto Muslims next? You are deplorables. |
Humans who are XXY are MALES who have Klinefelter syndrome. No one decides what sex they are at birth. They have penises. |
The Fairfax School Board made these changes yesterday. This thread is in response to those changes. https://wtop.com/fairfax-county/2018/06/school-district-considers-changes-to-sex-ed-dress-codes/ The deplorable comment is divisive and inappropriate. |
I don't know what you mean by the standard. No humans are the "standard" The question is whether saying "sex assigned at birth" is meaningful or not. It does not take many for that to be meaningful. |
Critics say it would promote transgender issues and contraceptives instead of abstinence. "The teacher says I am a male because the doc saw my penis when I was born, not because of a definition that includes chromosomes, hormones and internal and external reproductive organs. So I'm gonna buy some rubbers and do with Larla" Hmmmm. |
I would strongly disagree with you there. It seems like a real reach to say there is not a standard definition of male and female humans, and that it is not easily seen and detected. Chromosomal mutations that impact maleness/femaleness occur in a small percentage of the population. |
onky the tiniest minority of trans people are intersex. The exception. Doesn’t make the rule |
You're not making any sense at this point. |
There is a standard for male and for female. If you do not know this or if you count you own opinion as more true than fact, then your education has failed you. |
There is also a term sex assigned at birth and it is also meaningful. I doubt any of the people complaining here go through the FCPS curricula to make sure there are no inconsistencies among any defintions. I think there are people who want to make life difficult for people who identify as, live as, and even have the genitals of a person other than their chromosomal sex. "You have XY chromosomes, you can't go to the girls bathroom, go to the boys bathroom and get beaten up, pervert" I don't sympathize with that, and I doubt many FFX voters do. |
The italicized was in the linked article above. I was just trying to make sense of it. Can YOU explain how this FCPS definition would promote contraceptive use? |
| They'd been pushing this for a while. Isee they finally got it through. |
Don’t let the door hit you on the way out. FCPS can use the extra space for kids whose parents aren’t reactionary tools. |
