It's hard because she's hoping he'll get back to his regular size/the size he was when they met.

I’m wondering how old he is.

If he is middle age, it’s not likely to happen without some radical ephinany that changes his lifestyle (like, he suddenly gets very into mountaineering and wants to climb Everest - this happens more than you would think to middle aged white men).

Women do care about this.

+1000

Yup, +1. Keeeep deluding yourself, guys. It's not that I love my husband less when he gets soft / flabby....but I am CERTAINLY less attracted to him

Yet ironically women think they should be thought of as attractive when they get soft/flabby

And yet here are several women, saying that it is a big deal...

Women say all kinds of things, solve one issue they will have moved on to a new complaint. Most women aren't attracted to their husbands anyway. Stable faithful types biologically turn women off.

She'll never know because you'll f&$k her anyway.

Maybe they don't need to be attracted to you to f&$k you just like a woman doesn't need to be attracted to a man to stay married and use him for stability, security and a sense of certainty.

You might get back into the same shape you were before, but you may also not. Both of you will grow older, and your body will change. Often times, not for the better. You might suffer from illness that will change the way you look, smell and even behave. He might also go through illness. If you intend on being together, and happy, over the course of a prolonged relationship (think decades… not years) than you should really take all of this into account. If you're not ready to accept that he (and you) will change physically – cut him loose. He'll never be able to remain as young and handsome as when you first met. Neither will you, but that's an issue you'll have to solve for yourself.

You’re ridiculous. Comparing the body changes of pregnancy to a man who just eats too much? You have no grasp on this.

No its not ridiculous, you have no idea what is going on hormonally with this guy. Also pregnancy is not excuse for getting fat. I have lived and travelled in a lot of countries and this is the only one women think having been pregnant is an excuse to be fat. Typical DCCUM

My husband's weight has fluctuated a lot since we first started dating. After initially losing 50 lbs, he has gained about 20 back (putting him at about 10 lbs overweight). It's all in his chest/stomach area. He doesn't want to be overweight, eats well, but simply doesn't have time to exercise regularly. Do I love him less? Absolutely not. Am I less attracted to him now? A little bit. I just ignore that part of his body, frankly, when we're being intimate. The sex is still amazing.

Its funny, say that to a woman she would cry and stop speaking to you, say it about a woman and the hypocrites will come out of the wood work. 10 lbs over is even remotely an issue for you? He must be short, 10 pounds "overweight" is barely if at all noticeable on man

He even expresses how he's gained weight and now he's not very adventurous in bed. I don't remember the last time he let me see him naked. If he refuses to work out then what?

Who WANTS to see fat in bed? not me. I'd prefer the lights out than see my husbands tiny little d dangling below his belly.

I tried and he cried. I can't deal with a crying man. Ug. (not op)
