The Bachelorette Makes Her Choice ...

Anonymous
Anyone who's watched any previous episode of the season knows that Bryan was the first choice. Her clear preference for Bryan was visible not only to the viewing audience, but also the other guys in the house, since they discussed it multiple times (as recently as the previous episode, I believe).

It rings true when Rachel says that yes, she loved Peter, but the mega emotion was triggered by his similarity to her ex with the mixed signals of committing/not committing.

I was a Peter fan early on, but that certainly changed during the last episode. He showed himself to be nasty and controlling, spewing insults at Rachel when he didn't get his way.

It seems the rumors about him only wanting to be the Bachelor are true. I disregarded his yearbook info about wanting to be Bach because well, he was a teen. But as recently as 2015 he was liking facebook posts from his friends about how he should go on the Bachelorette and finish and second place so he could become the Bachelor.

And that's exactly what Peter did.

He also isn't a fan of Peter. I still think she can do better than Bryan - he seems smarmy but not sure Peter is the right guy either.

I thought it was telling that Reality Steve's source described Peter as "non-commital," "manipulative," emotional," and "a basket case."

I could kind of see all of those because he seems very controlled and sort of selectively emotional.

I know people think Rachel was being petty by saying the format of the show isn't right for Peter, but I think it's true. He is a very sensitive person who doesn't react well to any sort of criticism.

He quit professional modeling years back because he became anorexic. From his words earlier in the season, we know he went to therapy to learn to be calmer in his thougjts. On social media, he reacted very negatively to anything negative, deapite them being faaar outweighed by fawning comments.

And now sources are confirming that he is not emotionally stable.

For his own well-being, he should step back.

Bryan kissed her on the first night before he even knew her. He also acted like he was entitled to the fantasy suite. I wanted to see Peter crying in a limo. Why was he there for days after seeing her eyelashes on the floor? That obviously was not the final goodbye. At what point did he actually leave and whose decision was it? And if he would have proposed, would she have chosen him over Bryan? So many unanswered questions. As soon as she and Bryan disagree on something, there will be problems.

Multiple sources say Peter left a girlfriend back home to go on the show, telling her just that he was "going on a reality show to promote his business," but never coming back. Then she saw him on the Bachelor.

So I don't think it's true Peter would be less likely to cheat.

He's gross and so smarmy. I lost a lot of respect for Rachel last night. I just don't get what she sees in him.

She was so petty, too, telling Peter she's living her best life. It seemed really rehearsed and unnecessary. He seemed vulnerable and hurt.

Yep. And he's not even a real doctor!

Peter had undeniable raw emotion on the show, likely a mixture of hurt, frustration, and anger. It is clear, he felt unable to commit to Rachel for forever in the time frame they had, but he was hoping/open to keep being with her and, ultimately, propose when and how he would hope for. Trouble is, going into the show, he would not be oblivious to the short time frame.

Bryan is ultra smooth, seems to always know what to say. In a way, Rachel and him are very similar. She's also smooth, well spoken. Chris Harrison congratulated them as a "beautiful couple" at least twice. If so much is riding on looks/passion, that flame will burn out in due time.

I always like the people better before they become the bachelor or bachelorette. Rachel's head has gotten swollen and that is unbecoming. She strung Bryan along as the sure thing, but was trying to get Peter to propose, so she had to settle for Bryan. Now she is back pedaling in interviews saying that Peter was manipulative and pushing and pulling, and that her tears weren't for him, they were triggered by her ex. That's just because she has to put on an act for Bryan that she was always into him. It's so obvious she was thinking of Peter and Bryan even said it was awkward on their last date. She was the one pushing Peter to propose. He told her up front he didn't feel ready. If she wasn't the one pushing, she wouldn't have looked him in the eye saying she wanted a proposal. I don't think Bryan is a bad guy, but they barely talk because of all the kissing. Peter is more sensitive and I hope he realizes she was not the one for him. I think she made the best choice for her, but Peter deserves someone more sensitive like he is. Bryan just wanted to get in her pants. Peter actually loved her. She's too dumb to see that but she is too impatient and wants babies already.

I don't know. It seems like Peter wanted all of the benefits of being chosen but didn't want to make any sacrifices. I was team Peter, but now I think Rachel made the best choice. I don't think Peter was in it for her. He wanted the notoriety but did not want to pay any price. He's definitely manipulative.

The ring box actually has a Costco logo on the inside. WTF?

I agree! I had liked her all season until this moment. Why try to ruin his chances? It's just unnecessary. I would have liked her to be more honest and humane, like she was with Eric & Kenny: I felt a love for you at one point. I meant what I said. It was very painful that we couldn't get on the same page but looking back, I can see how we just weren't meant to be.

If she supposedly was never in love with him, like she's claiming in interviews, then why be so angry with him now?

Because he wouldn't give her a sparkly ring he didn't pay for after barely knowing her.

Because he only came on the show to be the Bachelor, and the audience is gobbling up his manipulative sob story just because he's good looking?

Even if that's true, it doesn't make sense to hold a grudge. If she's happy in her relationship with Brian, there's no need to poison the well for Peter. Every year, Chris Harrison asks the lead who s/he think should be the next bachelor/ette. She could have just said she was #teamdean, rather than twice proclaiming "this isn't for you." That was very intentional and reflects on her.

Yep, this quote from him sums it up:

"I went into this entire process totally open minded and ready for whatever was thrown at me, and even with that I don’t think I was prepared," he admitted. "I don't know if I can get to that level with someone that fast, but I certainly know that I tried. In this one instance, I couldn't. I can’t really speak to my future. In this one time, it wasn’t what I was able to do at that point."

She thinks he's a manipulative jerk now. And she has no poker face whatsoever. I actually like that about her. She can't be fake, and she knows Peter was playing her for a fool.

Seriously people? 4 pages of comments and not a single post about the red dress she wore at the last rose ceremony? WTF was that?! It made noise when she moved her arms and how do you hug someone that is wearing that? Super unflattering too.

I expect more from you guys.
