Agreed. And it will never happen. The Penn State admin has distinguished itself by never, ever doing the right thing. It's hardly surprising that the culture on campus would allow yet another awful tragedy to happen.

Why is that? There are thousands of colleges in America and yet what is it about PSU that their handling of things is so bad? Didn't they replace the administration post-Sandusky - or no?

They just put JoePa's son on the board of directors. They are so weird.

It is a cultist school - it was my safety (financially) and there is a lot less myopia in the honors college.

Even though I was an instate student, my friends were mostly Out of state kids who were in the accelerated med-program or honors college who viewed psu as a means to an end and not caught up in the poisonous atmosphere.

you can't make this stuff up yet people still defend the place.

you can draw a direct line from the mentality that causes decision making like this and the fact that PA voted for Trump.

70% of PSU grads stay instate. It is a very pro-trump school.

Really? Centre County went Clinton 48/46 and I bet the number is even higher among people associated with the college (faculty/staff/students).

Come on! Even a lib can admit that Penn State is more similar to slick Willey in the secret horror department than let it all out there Donald !

How can the college President put this in the apology letter: - CLEARLY false - and horrible.

In the statement, he said that the fraternity chapter where Piazza died had been a model for others:

“Both the Beta alumni and the national organization provided strict rules of behavior; and, the brothers had a no alcohol policy which stated that anyone caught drinking would be expelled.”

PP - oh I see, he stated that was how it was supposed to be. This kind of insane party cannot be going on without the school officials seeing it ....

Same BS, voer your ass approach they took with Paterno. That place is an utter disgrace. Change the players but the game remains the same.

Why do college students feel the need to drink so much?

I'm talking about alums, faculty, staff, students - anyone associated past or present with the school.

Compare it to Penn for example - the % of pro trump will be a lot higher at PSU.

the fact that centre county barely went for clinton tells you everything. compare that to other college towns.

Don't kid yourself. This can and probably does happen ANYWHERE. This is the Greek life mentality, which is what should be questioned.

Agree. Penn State students are led by a bunch of immature frat boys and sorority girls. What do you expect. I would avoid Penn State. What next?

Penn State declares they have nothing to do with this behavior. Greek life is separate from the university. However, these kids are examples of the culture at Penn State. These boys are an example of the leadership that Penn State teaches its students. Why would anyone send their kids to this school?
Oh...and I'm so sick of the rah rah Penn State graduates. Don't you know enough to shut up. Your stock is low.

Penn is an ivy -- sorry but it's attracting a different demographic than PSU, not only in terms of grades/scores but also most Penn undergrads are not from Pennsyltucky -- which is the very rural/red part of Pa. from which PSU students come to school. Plus Penn is in Philadelphia - so any city specific polling you do will include not only Penn students but also the very large diverse population of an east coast city.

It's silly to compare PSU to an ivy.

Most state school grads stay in-state, aside from elite schools. Most people can't afford to send their kids to out of state schools.
