Shocking Penn State hazing incident

Anonymous
I'm 23 and graduated from college 2 years ago. This story is horrific and I can't even imagine how this person was treated so poorly by people who were supposed to be his friends. On more than one occasion my friend group had to call our campus ambulance service to bring someone to the hospital and none of them were anywhere near as bad off as Tim seemed to be. We always thought better safe than sorry. I feel like something must have been wrong with these frat guys because I don't understand how this could happen.

It is not a Penn State problem, it is a problem for half the people in this country. Alcohol is nothing but a liquid drug that makes you do stupid things. People think alcohol is cool and it is "mainstream" accepted. If you don't drink alcohol people think you are either a religious zealot or a recovering alcoholic. Binge drinking is just as dangerous as "alcoholism". People always say stupid things like "if only they lowered the drinking age like the cultured people in Europe ". BS Europe has plenty of binge drinkers and alcoholics. Booze has been marketed as hip and normal so people make billions off other people getting drunk. What happened at Penn State can happen anywhere. My friend went to Yale many years ago and after a night of binge drinking they put him to bed instead of getting him help and he died.

Yep I went to Penn (the ivy -- not Penn State) and there were multiple incidents like this while I was there; some survived, but I recall one guy fell off a balcony at the frat house and didn't survive.

They got the boys drunk, stripped them, blindfolded them and marched them across a highway in the coldest winter on record. They were told they had to touch each other and let your brother be your guide. No matter what they heard they were to touch their brother and keep walking.

It was some stupid trust crap.

A car hit them. Dead at 18. He was an only child going to be a doctor like his father.

That particular fraternity no longer exists.

So sad. "When will they ever learn?"

Yes my friend who went to Yale had been valedictorian of his high school class. It doesn't matter if you go to Big State U or Elite Ivy- Booze kills. Greek life just fans the flame.

Hearings are being held this week, very very sad/

http://time.com/4854655/penn-state-fraternity-hearing-text-messages/

"As we have now sat for three days uncomfortably and impatiently listening to the defense lawyers' hollow excuses and arguments, our thoughts have turned constantly to our son Tim, whose death was caused collectively by men who continue, through their lawyers, to show no remorse, perpetuating the misconduct which caused Tim's death," he said in his statement."

Assume you know what happened in the athletic bathrooms during loser Joe Pa's tenure?
