We used to have Anthony Williams. Best DC mayor. Ever.
Unfortunately, he turned out to be a political aberration. |
| Sometimes, at least in terms of (poor) ethics and competence, Muriel Bowser seems like Marion Barry in a skirt. |
My husband spotted him at Tenley Whole Foods the other day. I asked him if he begged him to run again. Come back Tony!! I'd elect him president. |
| Bowser hates poor people and gives sweetheart deals to any rich corporation that will give her administration the time of day. Corrupt and she can't make the city run. DC govt doesn't pay its bills. |
+1. She is terrible. |
Check out the WaPo article on the council investigation into all of the contracting irregularities in favor of a leading crony contractor and contributor, Fort Meyer Construction. They mayor's response? Nothing to investigate here. |
It's truly shocking. You also have to fault the council for not holding her accountable. One also has to wonder what games Mary Cheh is playing. My understanding is that she has not also referred her report to the IG. She's also in a rather strong position to propose reforms, yet does not do so. Seems to rather prefer weakening Bowser for her own gain rather than trying to promote clean government. |
No democrat has won the majority of the white vote in presidential elections in this country since 1964 . I wonder why ? |
Well you just described the typical American police department |

I don't know, why don't you tell us. There are democratic cities that are governed well. If you don't like DC, move. |
I think it is pretty clear and we have ample evidence that a white mayor would be just as corrupt as a Black one.DC government has a culture of corruption problem no matter the race. I mean, look at Jim Graham. |
Exactly. Tony Williams (best DC mayor ever) was quite ethical. I'd hesitate to put Jack Evans in the mayor's office, however. |

Half of DC doesn't agree with you. 50% solidly support Mayor Bowser.
