be an adult and wake up on time. I don't use an alarm and always wake up on time.

See everyone, our bodies and brains are all identical, don'cha know? It's this easy for everyone.

What? You just magically wake up at 6:15 or whatever by telling yourself that the night before? Does not seem like this works or alarm clocks wouldn't exist.

It does work. I have never been late for an appointment or meeting or flight in my life. As for alarm clocks, this world is full of things that we don't need. We just don't realize it.

So ... did you ever arrive at a costume party, not wearing one, then you realize you have the wrong address? This is you, right now. Not the right party.

guess who's babies become really good at self-soothing?

By the time I'm verified that it's all crap and deleted it all, I'm awake enough that I can drag myself out of bed. Or I see all the work emails and realize that life will be even worse if I don't get myself in to the office.

You mean become tortured and unloved babies and insecure adults? Yep.

I think you are hopping out of bed a bit too soon. Get more sleep, be less grumpy.

Just get up. This is indicative of overall laziness on your part, and it is irresponsible. You are too lazy to go to bed earlier, and then you are too lazy to wake up on time. I mean, there is no other solution to this, you will not change and you will find excuses for everything.

Leave the alarm in your kitchen and have a cup of coffee (iced will do) waiting

I also had this problem and overcame it by "staggering" my wake up.

I deliberately set the alarm early so that I can hit snooze. But when the alarm rings, I turn on the bedroom light and TV to the news. Then I turn over (the lamp and remote are within arms reach on the night stand.) I listen to the news for information about traffic and weather (to determine my outfit). By the time the alarm rings a second time, I'm pretty much awake and ready to go! I may also check my email or surf a site or two after hitting snooze and turning on the light and news. Works like a charm!

If you like coffee, the programmed coffee maker helps as well, as the smell of coffee drifts through the house.

And as many have said, just get to bed earlier!

In short, don't just hit snooze and turn over.

Hit snooze, then turn on the bedroom light and TV (or radio).

Once the snooze button hits, you'll be ready to go.

Just in case my advice was hard to follow.

Actually, I have found this really works, provided I get to bed on time. When I am in bed early enough, I can tell myself that I need to be up at say, 6:30. I generally then wake up within a minute or two of that time. It is not just routine, either. Sometimes I'll 'tell' myself 6:30, other times it'll be 7 or 7:30.
