Why do some rich people have terrible crooked teeth?

His parents obviously had money for tennis, I am sure they could have scraped for braces for their kids. He could even do Invisalign now, and take them off during matches, but he doesn't. It might take a little longer to fix this way, but still possible. So, why does a rich, famous athlete has such bad teeth?

He has bad teeth and is still rich and famous. You post on DCUM about rich and famous people with bad teeth. Who's winning?

My DH was / is middle class. His teeth were fixed when he was younger but they seem to have moved around again. Not our most pressing problem right now. Maybe the tennis star just wants to concentrate on tennis?

Bad teeth and rich is totally a "thing" like a I'm so rich and successful and smart that I couldn't care less. I'm above such vanity. It's all an image, an act.

Yikes. What grownup wants to wear a retainer for decades?

My bottom retainer is super glued to my teeth and has been there for 25+ years. I doubt I will ever get rid of it. Dentists have asked me if I want to remove it but I always say no. Why would I want to remove a retainer that is still keeping my teeth in place and doesn't bother me in the slightest?

I fixed my crooked, very crowded teeth at age 36 and it was life-changing. I recommend it to everyone.

My sister is a nurse and she told me that anyone entering an ER with a missing or broken tooth is assumed to have no insurance.

Yeah I don't get this either OP. I work with a very beautiful woman who has terrible teeth. She makes a good salary and we have dental insurance. I don't get it either. I'd love to say something to her but too afraid.

Dental insurance has nothing to do with braces and never covers it, and certainly not for adults.

That's simply not true. Met Life Dental and Humana both partially cover braces.

Pop singer Jewel has a beautiful voice and is attractive at first glance but her teeth are atrociously crooked and her enourmous nose is in desperate need of some work.

This happened to my brother. No braces as a kid because "not that bad" - now, a mess.

Same here. Teeth still perfect!

Because they got rich later on after all these changes, after puberty, after all their teeth came out?
Plus, it takes time to be rich. Like everyone else, a lot of us put health care/dental care after work, fun and family.
