Why do some rich people have terrible crooked teeth?

Anonymous
Because many people don't like going to the dentist or orthodontist. Most of the time it hurts, and who likes having hands in your mouth? Not me! But, if I was on TV, I'd get them fixed. Invisalign is removable.

I find it odd as well. Teeth are very important. Braces are very reasonably priced. I had braces and for the last 20 years I've had a permanent bottom retainer. My teeth still look great. I don't understand why you wouldn't fix something that that be fixed.

You've never seen an adult with braces?
I did Invisalign. 38 years old.

my aunt had braces in the late 40s and my grandparents were definitely not wealthy.

Well, if they don't have problem with their teeth then why do you?

That doesn't make the previous statement any less true.

It is incredibly difficult to do braces or even invisalign when you talk and make public appearances for a living.

A lot of truly blue-blood WASP types have bad teeth. I think it is because of their British heritage and Anglophile ways, haha.

Not the OP, but it's really hard not to notice bad teeth.

I *like* my crowded bottom teeth. I have no idea why, considering how much all of my other facial flaws bother me. My top teeth are straight and are much more visible, so that's good enough for me.

We are not rich, but we could afford braces if I wanted them. But my teeth don't bother me, so I'm not going to go through the discomfort and awkwardness of braces at nearly 40 to fix them.

They may have not worn their retainer, etc. I had braces when I was younger in my 40s now with crowded lower teeth. For what it is worth, I get good marks from my dentist on flossing and hygiene. Have thought about another round of braces but too busy, like most of us in DC area

+2.

I had braces when I was younger and my teeth still look pretty bad at age 46.

But at this point, so what? My wife loves me, my kids love me, I'm in the midst of a solid career. The only reason to spend time and money to fix this would be vanity.

Yikes. What grownup wants to wear a retainer for decades?

There is a lot of inbreeding in those old money families. Some unattractive features can become more prominent. Like with the british

Why doesn't Andy Murray fix his teeth? And I don't think "he is British" is the reason. Plenty of people in Europe are fixing their teeth these days and wearing braces. His parents obviously had money for tennis, I am sure they could have scraped for braces for their kids. He could even do Invisalign now, and take them off during matches, but he doesn't. It might take a little longer to fix this way, but still possible. So, why does a rich, famous athlete has such bad teeth?

I never needed braces but I would fix my teeth if I needed them so people didn't realize I was not well off growing up.

I wear invisalign retainer occasionally. All it takes is putting it one once a week, to keep teeth from moving. I don't see what is yikes about it. I paid good money to have nice teeth and I want to keep it that way.
