Not at all, but if they can't go to school and you certainly believe that they shouldn't be working (b/c they would be taking jobs!) what other alternatives are there?

How does the Hope scholarship work? That's gotta be what they're after. Is it some auto-qualifying thing with a certain high school GPA/SAT?

But I thought illegals only come here to work jobs we don't want. Now it seems they want all sorts of social program perks, social security, and free college tuition, too. In other words, they're economic migrants who want to sponge all the resources tax payers pay for. Then they'll get on social media and BRAG about it!

They can go to school - but let them PAY for it. Why should Georgia taxpayers have to finance the college educations of those who are not lawful residents? And as far as what alternative, well....I guess that's the problem when you break a country's laws by immigrating illegally. You're boxed in, because people feel you shouldn't be taking jobs or college slots (and funding) away from legal residents. Maybe others who are thinking of sneaking across the borders will think twice if they realize they will face some obstacles, and do it the legal way.

But as far as those already here, I guess we need to give them work permits. But we certainly don't have to pay for their bachelor's degrees when we have millions of our own citizens unable to afford college.

Apparently, the illegals think that since Obama has protected them from deportation, they are also entitled to be admitted to our state schools (and at the in-state rate, too). And before you liberals jump to their defense, remember that for every law-breaking immigrsnt who gets in, a law-abiding American student gets kept out. I for one would like to see preference given to our OWN citizens, and not people who are in this country illegally.

Hillary will support this nonsense, right?

Good question for the debate. See her try to wiggle out of it.

I think those students already qualified for admission, university just tried playing INS and is disqualifying students without enough facts

No student is illegal, it is called a student visa and anyone with university admission has it

They can go to school - but let them PAY for it. Why should Georgia taxpayers have to finance the college educations of those who are not lawful residents? It will get worse under Hillary, too. Look at her free college tuition platform. I was lucky. My parents paid for my undergrad. Years later, I paid for my masters. However, I had plenty of friends who worked their asses off during college b/c their parents couldn't afford tuition. If they could do it, then so can others. We're saving for our kids, but if we can't save enough, guess what?

Have we become "so tired and so poor" that we can't see straight?

And no, I'm not supporting Trump either.

You are correct. College tuition will skyrocket under Hillary. If the government starts to fund tuition, colleges will charge more and more and more.
The cost of college has increased ridiculously the past 20 years:
The average tuition and fees at private National Universities jumped 179 percent.
Out-of-state tuition and fees at public universities rose 226 percent since 1995.
In-state tuition and fees at public National Universities grew the most, increasing a staggering 296 percent.

So you have no idea what it's like to be in debt for undergrad loans but you're sure it's nbd. Kay.

A person isn't illegal per se, but a person can be an illegal immigrant.
And these illegal immigrants did NOT qualify. The state requires they be lawful residents - since lawful residents are supporting the education with their taxes. They are in this country, and the state of Georgis, in violation of the law. They're lucky they're not deported, but to insist that they're entitled to a taxpayer- subsidized education is some "chutzpah",

If one enters this country illegally, then that person is an illegal immigrant.

Exactly. Some housekeepers and nannies get $25+ per hour.

Untaxed. And 85% of it goes right back to the country from where they fled.

I think the immigration issue is a prime example of why we need a 3rd party political system in this country. I voted for Obama 2x, don't like HRC but will absolutely vote for her. While I am not for building a wall, I do agree that anyone here illegally needs to be deported. I also take real exception to the anchor baby issue. If the government, actually took measures to deport some of these "families" then that would send a strong message and possibly curb border crossings, etc... Something needs to be done. Do you know how difficult it is for an illegal immigrant to get the services that they get in the U.S. to get the same services in the U.K.?? While the U.K. may have a more liberal policy toward accepting migrants, they are pretty tough on illegals. Something needs to be done about this.
