Nope! I could buy half a dozen new beamers with cash right on hand. But thanks for confirming the BMW driver stereotype as a buncha insecure pricks

So for those who actually like driving, what car would you recommend that is manual, rear wheel drive, handles well, good brakes, comfortable interior that isn't a jerks car?

Porsche Cayenne: I had to own something with a Porsche badge no matter what and couldn't be deterred by the fact that this car is absolutely hideous. Look at me, I have a Porsche!

Lincoln or Mercury SUV: I cannot afford a Range Rover

Kia: I am too cheap or stupid to buy a Honda or Toyota

Cadillac Escalade: I'm a pimp, a drug dealer, or a soccer mom who thinks four feet from the curb is a good parallel parking job

BMW X5: I'm a social climbing asshole who knows nothing about cars because I want to pay triple digit oil changes for an SUV that has the same sport and off-road capabilities as a UPS truck

Audi: I bought this car in hopes that its looks and cache could fool you into thinking I'm a good driver as I go 25 mph on a Beltway on-ramp

Buick/Oldsmobile: I am over 75 or inherited this thing from someone who was

VW GTI: People that would buy a STI if it were more comfortable. Loaded, these are driven by middle aged men.

The be fair to the GTI owners, they also want more low rpm torque.

Huh?

Aka, popular with Asians. Also in this category: Corollas, Camrys, Accords.

You just named the four most popular cars in the world and associated them with the most populous continent in the world. So yes, you're correct in the same way you'd be correct if you said that people who don't wear glasses tend to wear shirts.

Wow, you and I have very different perceptions of cars.

Prius: slow ass drivers!

I tend to think the slowest drivers are Corolla drivers.

At first I was going to shout "racist," but we are discussing stereotypes & this is my perception too!

Hyundai Sonata-Someone who wants to look like a baller but realistically cannot afford to.

I'm a Prius driver (early 30's mom) and I drive slowly, mostly out of spite. I can't stand it when people ride my @ss. So instead of speeding up, I gradually let my foot off the gas and let the person behind me suffer. So Prius driver = self righteous a-hole? Yes.

You should hear what BMW mechanics say about them. Clue: don't buy one.

Mom car for mom who thinks she's too cool for a minivan:

Those are suburban mom cars. City mom cars are more like:
Forester
Mazda 5
Prius

Part 1: absolutely true. Especially true for the Pilot & MDX.
Part 2: What neighborhood are you talking about?? Or maybe you are not in DC. Forester & Mazda 5 are extremely rare, almost nonexistent in my area of NW. I see Prius on the roads but usually driven by old people or lame middle-aged men.

I'm in NE. Maybe it more of a WOTP/EOTP difference than a suburb/city one.

It could be WOTP/EOTP. There are seemingly zillions of Mazda 5 and Foresters in Capitol Hill (I know, I know, some don't think of the Hill as really EOTP). Lots of Odyssey and Sienna minivans too. On the higher end - Acura MDX and Lexus RXs, and recently the NX crossovers. I'm a city mom who drives a Lexus.
