I like the stereotypes of cities post, and am thinking about a new car. I'm not a car person(from NYC, didn't drive until I moved here a couple of years ago). No idea what kind of car suits me. They all look the same to me.
So name your "car/people who drive them" stereotypes! |
Are you living here in DC? Don't get anything huge. If you are wealthy stick with a tesla. If you are normal, stick with a hybrid or other high mileage car. If you have kids make it a subaru. |
Subaru Outback or Forester: Lesbian
BMW: Rich prick Escalade: Ghetto Fabulous Camaro or Charger: "Overcompensating" Mustang: REALLY "Overcompensating"! |
bugatti chiron or 1-77 aston martin are nice. |
Not really a stereotype, but I'll never buy a minivan. I think they are hideous. My sister had one for her 3 kids. I was so happy she sold it and bought an Acura. |
Understated and classy. Says I am not a car person, but can appreciate the finer things. |
Prius- Hippy who drives 10mph below speed limit |
Jaguar- asshole, invariably |
Acadia- awesome person. That's what I drive ![]() |
We are thrifty people who drive a Toyota Corolla (compact car) and Mazda 5 (tiny minivan).
For us, it's about driving from A to B as cheaply yet safely as possible. |
Volvo: either a safety-conscious nervous nelly driving at exactly the speed limit - or a soccer mom who blows through neighborhood streets like a rocket (I bought such a safe car that I can push it a little, right?)
(This stereotype applied more before so many people moved to SUVs or minivans, but it hasn't gone away completely) |
Honda Civic=rice mobile
|
Mom cars:
Honda Odessy Toyota Sienna Toyota Highlander Mom car for mom who thinks she's too cool for a minivan: Honda Pilot Acura MDX |
Sad but true. |
Mini - hipster, or english |
