I like Paul Giamatti's wife, the Axe shrink.
Enjoying this show, although I think the critics don't like it very much. Apparently it's already been renewed for a second season so we can get invested.

The shrink was 'Rachel' on Mad Men. The Jewish department store heiress that had an affair with Draper.

She was also Jax's wife in Sons of Anarchy. She is better cast in Billions.

My only complaint is that I don't think that Malin Ackerman, who plays Axe's wife, is believable as former working-class Irish Catholic girl from Staten Island (isn't she from Sweden?). She is beautiful, but I am just not buying it. Anyway, thoughts?

I really like the show but axis locks are almost hard to watch he's so freaking ugly Degree about the white not believable at all there's no connection or chemistry

I am not sure who the guys who plays ask but he is so ugly he's literally hard to watch

What about Dechert? Morgan Lewis? Sidley? The name droppings crack me up, but I'm a nerd in the industry for 15+ years so I get the obvious and subtle jokes.

Giamatti's role IRL is an indian guy and the overarching framework of the show (targeting insider trading buyside fund) was similar to the galleon group case - which was a fund run by Raj Rajaratnam (Sri Lankan).

Then again, Showtime wouldn't pick up this show (already picked it up for two seasons) if the producers cast two swarthy types for leads - now would they?

Ridiculous - this isn't 1950 anymore people - oh and the galleon group case is a fresh case, less than 5 years old.

I found the Galleon case fascinating but putting an ethnic element into it would be a distraction to most viewers (I'm thinking of Don Cheadle's Marty in House of Lies).

I'm loving the show.

Pretty pathetic that you can't see past your own bias. That thinking actually sucks and is disappointing.

another pp - agreed, pretty sad stuff.

SO SAD. Cheadle is AMAZING in that role. Are you saying that he is a distraction because he's black?! WTF?

Cheadle is one of my favorite actors. He is amazing in House of Lies. He is a great actor! Malin Ackerman, the wife on Billions, sucks. She was terrible in The Watchman and has in no way improved at all it seems. Not sure who she is sleeping with in Hollywood to get parts because she has NO talent.

Her sex scene in the pool with Axe? Horrible! Over-acted in the worst way...ugh

I love her on this show too, but agree Brody's wife was bad casting.

I can't think of him as anyone else either!

Dechert MLB Sidley aren't elite enough.

v5 only baby!

I wonder if "(w)ho(e)rvath" in the last episode was a play on cravath. Someone on the show perhaps has sullcrom ties.

Best new show of the year.

I love how he ALWAYS wears clothes in a really good blue.

I love it too, but I find Axe to be hideous. They could've found someone better looking.

How many posters find Damien Lewis (guy who plays Axe) hideous?

This astonishes me, because while I don't actually find him attractive, I'm aware that a lot of women do find him attractive.

Maybe he's not aging well. He's very tall and long-legged with a bit of a swagger. Doesn't that do anything for anyone?
