excellent show - i'm surprised it isn't ultra popular in dc.

Thought it was just me! Can't figure out if we are supposed to like her or not. Doesn't help that she is by far the weakest actor on the show and rall the other female characters (Wendy, Mary Louise Parker, Condola Rashad, the other dominatrix) are interesting and badass in their own way. She and the sons could disappear and I don't think it would negatively affect the show. Also, I get they are blue collar people turned billionaires, but Lara and Bobby are like Mark Zuckerberg and the Mrs 10 years from now, jeans and tshirt, too cool for school and the upper echelons, but still outsiders looking in, demanding respect. There is also a disconnect between them and their homes. Same with Wendy and Chuck. Both couples seem out of place in them.

Lara is the worst actress. She also doesnt depict a girl from Staten Island from a big Irish blue collar family. The script is good, but her delivery and accent are completely off.

I just binged this entire series in the last week - so good!!! I have their voices in my mind like they are narrating my day. I don't know why it took me so long to notice this show - but glad I've caught up - and now maybe I can get to bed before 2AM again....I haven't started new season yet - need to absorb all I've seen!

Just finished season 2. I really don't like Mary louse Parker. To me, she doesn't play the character right and that southern twang grates on my nerves.

Looking forward to season 3

That, and the Irish aren't in Staten Island. They are northern Bronx, Middle Village (Queens), and the "Beaches" in Brooklyn. She's such a lame character, easily the weakest in the cast.

Enjoying this show, although I think the critics don't like it very much. Apparently it's already been renewed for a second season so we can get invested.

If she had to be from Staten Island, they should have made her Italian. But, Malin looks about as far from Italian as you can get.

I have no idea WHY they cast her in this role. She doesn't look, sound, or act the part. There's a zillion great actresses they could have auditioned and casted who are (1.) actually from NYC, (2.) have the right accent and attitude, and (3.) don't look like they are straight off the KLM flight from Stockholm.

I really liked the first two seasons. But Season 3 is barely holding my attention.
