Mine is delusional too. He says he read on NWS we are getting 1/2 and was going to leave on a trip via car Saturday morning. He won't look at any other forecast.

PP here, that should read 1/2 an inch, one half an inch is what my husband says we are getting, it's because NWS reported yesterday that is all we will get on Friday and wouldn't commit to an accumulation total whatsoever. But this morning they finally did, 22-28 inches, but DH won't accept it.

This will be the biggest "I told you so" ever, when he's stuck somewhere for days. Get some wine and watch the fun. Report back!

I mean, if it weren't so funny I would think he is the stupidest man alive. I am not the OP, but my husband with his 1/2 inch total accumulation prediction may just win a Darwin Award.

He needs to go back and look again. The NWS didn't say 1 to 2 inches. It said 1 to 2 FEET.

Just reading through CWG tweets, and the very first forecast that the NWS put out said that we would have 3-5 inches of snow by 7 pm on Friday alone. What is your DH smoking? Does he not know the difference between " and ' on a map?

A couple of things ...

1) Your husband is in emergency response and planning? God help us all.

2) You don't know where the charger for your phone is? What happens when you bring it home at night when there isn't an emergency? Do magical elves sneak up to your room while your sleeping, plug it into the charger, and bring it back up to your room before you wake up?

This sort of nonsense -- on part of both the husband and the wife -- kills me.

OP here. Not my phone charger . Apparently we have some kind of universal charger I am supposed to look for in basement...or garage...amongst all my husbands junk that works when power goes out.
I understand the dont be a damsel in distress/ adventure thing but I am in the exact same boat as the military and doctors spouse. I have done so many of these alone and understand DH can't always be here. Would love if sometimes he did the little thing to take just the cherry of extra stress of the sundae. He is crazy competent and helps a lot of people - I just wish we weren't always 'winging it and hoping for the best' at home. As you can see, I'm the worried and he's the "it'll all be fine" - but somehow that is grating on me now. I know it will, but I also know he wont be back, and I know kid and I are gutting it out on own (again).

Just buy an extra charging pack and charge it up now. I assume you have stockpiled food, gotten a shovel and subscribed to Netflix. If you have decent neighbors, check in with them so they know you are on your own.

It is a universal appliance charger that can run when power is off. I have the thing that connects my phone to the wall to charge it. Thats it. I dont know what this charger in supposed to be looking for looks like. My husband sent me a pic and it looks like everything else in the basement garage.

A lot of newer (like in the last 3-4 years) cars now have USB ports in them instead of the old lighter adapters. In that case you can just plug in your regular phone charger. Look into that. Otherwise what you are looking for is an adapter that has a big round thing on the end to go into the lighter hole in the car. We actually have power adapters in all our cars anyway because we use them to charge phones while we are traveling (lots of 9+ hour drives to New England) but I also have a car adapter I bought at Best Buy that has actual outlet plugs. I got it because I work at home and need to be able to charge my laptop in addition to my phone so I can continue to work (and can use my phone as a wifi hotspot).
