Left on a trip when news of the storm was out, though as heavy snowfall, not "blizzard". We are getting a wood delivery today by happenstance, thank god. I work and care for our small child. Have spent the morning delay locating snow shovels, salt, blankets. Can't find charger station (he says it is definitely in basement,... or maybe garage?). Sent me a photo to look through mounds of apparently identical electronics he stockpiles everywhere. Then says dont even worry about shoveling. He will fly in Sat. And handle it all.

You'll see him on Tuesday, is my guess. The airports will open back up on Sunday, probably, but he will have been bumped and rerouted. Good luck, OP!

Can he come back tonight?

Your husband is delusional.

I hope he likes sleeping at whatever airport he's leaving from.

Learn how to type and get Jeff to fix the title for starters.

Secondly, he hasn't been watching the news, the airports will be shut down come Saturday. VA has declared a state of emergency.

Get a neighbor to shovel and pay them $100.

My thoughts are that I hope you are able to take Monday off, because schools will be closed and your husband won't arrive until Monday evening at the earliest. Unless he just starts driving. If he's in the continental US and he starts driving right now, he'll be here by Saturday, sure.

He insists. In his real life he does emergency response , planning etc. Things are fine when he's around, but he travels all the time and usually isn't. In that case, we really have nothing as a backup plan..I just ordered some battery operated lanterns for delivery today. All we've got is a couple of crappy flashlights. I dont have a number to reach him. Just hear from him when he's able to email and text (different time zone). I find I am really cranky today about the charger situation. Wil be nursing my cell phone all weekend hoping power doesn't go out. I didn't even know we had a charger until I asked him (via email) if he thought it would be a.good idea if I picked one up. His response: Its here or maybe here, but dont worry. I'll be back. Would it have been too much to ask that he get it out and buy a couple jugs of water before the trip? Or we make an actual family I know this is just a big vent but I often feel left holding the bag and the sunny optimism - dont worry,I'm back Sat afternoon and have rented a four wheel drive, is actually making me madder! Thoughts?

I claim it's spring...but it's not. I'm sorry, OP. Start prepping!

Mine is delusional too. He says he read on NWS we are getting 1/2 and was going to leave on a trip via car Saturday morning. He won't look at any other forecast.

My thought is that it is odd that you cannot contact your own husband--are you sure he's out of town for work???

I spent most of the worst of the PEPCO outage years without a cell phone at all. Do you have a radio?
