Good for you! |
I lost 40 lbs in between two visits to my family. No one seemed to notice. I realized I care a lot more about my appearance than anyone else! |
| It's very hard to notice weight loss when you see someone on a regular basis. One of my coworkers lost 40 lbs and I wouldn't have noticed except she mentioned it. |
Haha! My friend (guy) dated a girl years ago (when we were young and stupid), and commented "she could lose 3-4lb". My DH and I thought that was the strangest thing to say and still laugh about it! They eventually broke up. Not due to her weight. |
Thanks! DH has really noticed and I'm about to buy new pants. |
Most likely, she came to her senses. A guy that insensitive probably made a few other choice comments. I'm 5'3" and I've lost 28 pounds so far, from 178 to 150. At 10 pounds, my husband noticed. It 20 pounds I finally started to notice. Now that I'm nearing 30 pounds other people, like DH's teachers have begun to notice. I need to lose 20 more pounds to fit into my wedding dress and get to nice bmi of about 22. Then I'll decide whether to lose a final 10 pounds. |

That is awesome! You must look amazing. What did you do to lose it? People DO notice - they are just not saying anything. Maybe a lil bit jel. ? I would be. But I'd still say something, like you look great and let you know that I'm jealous ? |
| I'm 5'3" and went from 149 to 128 over the past year. Some people have made comments, and my pants are too baggy (I keep thinking I'm going to gain it back so don't want to buy a ton of clothes) but it's funny -- you don't see it on yourself. At least I don't. |
| I think it depends on how big you start out. The bigger you are the less noticeable. For me, at my current large size of 165, in 15 lbs people will definitly notice. When I get to 145, annoying people tell me to stop. I look my beat at 140. |
My DH went dorm 275 to 225 and when people hadn't seen him in a long time they were absolutely astonished. He got compliments all the time. Your family sounds rude and maybe jealous. Are they really big? It's not a matter of caring. It's a matter of acknowledging an enormous accomplishment that was probably very difficult for you. |
| 10 for me to notice, 5 for everyone else to notice. |
| It totally depends on your height. I'm 5'2", so 5 lbs is noticeable on me. |
