| I've lost 23 pounds in three months, and honestly, I can't even really tell myself in the mirror and am still in the same pants size. Very frustrating. |
|
I read somewhere:
10lbs for you to notice 15lbs for close friends/family to notice 20lbs for others to notice. But this would all be relative to your size and amount needed to lose. |
| 15 |
| I remember telling me that I looked like I lost about eight pounds. I thought that was such a strange comment ... and a strange amount to notice. |
| I would suspect 10? |
| For me, there are two people who notice even if it's only 5 pounds: my husband and my mother! |
|
I agree it does depend on where you start.
But for me, about 15 pounds is a clothing size. I have lost 12 and I can tell in my clothing (and my husband says he call tell), but I am still very overweight (190 lbs). I don't think anyone will say anything to me until I hit below 175, which puts me out of the obese category for the first time in 6 years. |

Around 5. I wear my pants fairly fitted, although not tight, and if I gain 5 pounds I don't like the way half of them fit anymore. Other people also notice at around 5 to 8 because it moves me from a little extra weight to looking much fitter.
But the weight doesn't really matter, right, it's how your clothes fit and how you feel. |
You say, "you look great!" That's easy enough. |

You've lost a lot of muscle, I bet. I would guess that you are doing a low calorie diet and you aren't strength training. |
| I recently lost 10 and 2 co-workers noticed (on the same day so maybe it was the outfit?) |
| I have lost 30 lbs and 2 people have noticed. I only have 10 more to go. Apparently, no one cared that I was fat. Or they don't see me. |
| 5'3" and no one but my husband has noticed 147 to 135. I'm down almost a full size. |
| 10% loss is noticable, in my experience. |
