There is a hearing at 1:30pm today. It's been 5 years now, and the charges could be dropped today if she is still found incompetent.

Last update was right before spring. Judge said not ripe for dismissal until 2022. New psychiatric evaluation says she has reached maximum part of recovery; suggest it is because she has a psychological barrier preventing “restoration” to sanity because what she did was so horrific.

I feel sick thinking about this. I had not been familiar with the story until now. Those poor babies.

I don’t think they will ever be found. Probably disposed of before people knew where to look.

She was grossly psychotic. It’s like wondering how a person could dream a disturbing dream or do something dangerous while sleepwalking.

I still think about this a lot. My husband and I were part of the initial volunteer search party. Gut wrenching.....

No that's not how this works. A friend of mine went through something similar when her schizophrenic BIL murdered his parents. He wasn't declared fit for trial for 6 years but he wasn't released in the meantime. He literally sat in jail unmediated until he was declared fit for trial at which he was found guilty.

Honestly, this is terrible.
