Am I too old to wear Doc Martens?

Yes, they're actually back in and a major fashion trend. Get with the times.

I've aged out of miniskirts, but Docs? Nah.

Yeah, but I'm 36, and not pretending I'm still 22, imitating Miley Cyrus hanging out naked on a wrecking ball except for her Doc Martens. At my age, they look silly.

I haven't worn them in years but they are a great supportive shoe. I don't think there is an age limit.

I had about 5 pairs in HS and took them to college with me in the late 90s. I injured my ankle once and went to health services. The doctor looked at my feet and said "do you always wear such supportive shoes? That's great".
If a doctor considers them supportive shoes then I think they are great for our now aging feet.

Doubt I would wear the oxbloodbood or blue suede ones of my youth but you have me thinking I should get a black pair for commuting. BTW I just turned 40.

I've just got my first pair in probably 20 years for my birthday ... Turns out my son got the very same 3 eyelet ones in black for his birthday this year too!!..
To me ? I'd say age is a number .. I'm 43 and never grew up ,I look young and in shape .. My style is fit n flare dresses and skirts with crop top worn classically with sheer panty hose or thick knit .. Leather jacket from allsaints or yellow or black biker .if I wear jeans then I fold them up or do crop jean with high waist and do a black ankle sock in my shoe.. I wear longer tops with low slung and crop with high waist ... I also got dr marten Kim boot ... So very comfy soon as I put them on ...the shoe I got the rubber mallet to bash the heal to subjection .. It worked , nice .

To the poster who wears long skirts and Docs, where do you find your long skirts? I am looking for long casual skirts (slightly structured or cotton better than clingy nylon/rayon, etc.)

Slight A-line is okay or straight…used to have a fabulous army green cargo skirt that was long but I wore it out.

If you are old enough and lucky enough to have seen the Sex Pistols,Ramones or Clash in concert then yes, you have more of a right than anyone to wear them. It's called being Legitimate and not a poseur.

Ramones. Best. Live. Show. Ever.

Sadly, my black ones died, and they aren't the same any more. I still have the purple ones.

These days I wear red wings instead.

I wear Docs, but not the work boots these days. I gave some really nice sleek Docs that I actually wear to my office job. They lack the yellow stitching but are super comfy. So it's an undercover Doc, I guess

I say you're never too old for Docs, either old-school or more sleek.
