Am I too old to wear Doc Martens?

I'm 60 and just bought my first Doc Martens.......a Victorian flower canvas pair and a cherry red 1460 leather classic pair. Totally love them!!

52 and and still wearing docs.

There is this woman who goes to my coffee shop who wears docs. She's in her sixties, Silver hair in a messy bun, all black clothes -- she looks cool as hell..

Five pairs and eyeballing my sixth pair.
All very different: chelsea boots, regular laceup boots, oxfords, platform sandals, mary janes, but now need those loafers!

Why are compliments so important? Do you dress for others?

NP but it’s nice when people say nice things - we’re not dressing for others but getting compliments makes life nicer. This is especially noticeable after a certain age when far fewer people compliment on my clothes. I wear what I like regardless, but kind statements and compliments are always appreciated.

I told my DH the other day that I'd like to get a new pair, and he was like, "aren't you too old for that now"? Is there really an "age limit" on wearing Docs?

Sounds like DH needs a bit of education. If you don’t nip that kind of comment in the bud, it will only get worse.

My 7 year old, me, and my 70 year old mother all wear them. Different styles, but for us they’re a staple for all generations.
