What food do you wish you liked?

Op here. I also think licorice is awful, but I've never wished that I like it.

I did think of another one--Green Tea. I love love love tea, but green tea tastes like dirt to me.

Ha! I hate lettuce on sandwiches, especially burgers. What is the point?

Red onions. They make me physically ill, and they are in EVERYTHING.

Anonymous wrote:Mexican. It's always the go-to when we get together with friends, but I never like anything on the menu except for margaritas. Hate tortillas and anything wrapped in them; hate raw onions, avocado, cumin, and melted cheese all over my food.

Mmm, liquid dinner

I like Mexican, but margaritas are the first thing I think of when I'm headed to a Mexican joint.

Mussels. A big plate of mussels in garlic butter looks and smells so good, but. . .gag.

And oysters. It feels like swallowing snot. I can't get over it.

Anonymous wrote:Red peppers. Generally I just pick them out of the food, but the taste is SO overwhelming for me that I don't really enjoy the meal. A lot of restaurant food seems to have red pepper in it.

Oddly enough, I like green, yellow, and orange peppers

Me too!

+1 to yogurt. Can't stand it. Also I really hate onions, cooked, uncooked, caramelized, whatever. A crunchy onion can ruin guacamole for me and a slimy one in pasta sauce does the same. I love the taste/smell but hate hate hate the texture so I always sub onion powder in my recipes. Same for garlic!

Seafood (oysters, squid, lobster, etc)
Bitter greens like radicchio

I like fennel just fine; I was unaware so many people used it in their cooking.

You do realize that the red liquid in meat is not blood, right?

What do you suppose it might be? And it sure tastes like blood to me.

Anonymous wrote:Sushi too. It is supposed to be so good for you but I just don't like the taste or mouth feel. Love licorice/anise. I can't wait for the big bags of black jelly beans that appear around Easter.

Gag! Those jelly beans are all yours!

Soft shell crabs. Maryland crabs.

Both gross me out, but I love crab cakes and living in this region I wish I could get into the whole eating a bucket of crabs thing.

Another olive person here. Love olive oil, but dislike olives, and really do wish I enjoyed them.

Otherwise, raw veggies. I dislike most. I suffer through salads.
