Now THAT is scary! |

OP, is it possible someone is gaslighting you?
I do believe in signs (e.g. I got some really bad news, & that very afternoon on the subway ran into a rarely-seen aquaintance who successfully handled the same bad news). However, the part with the POD guy is way too concrete. God works in mysterious ways, not really easy to verify ways. I feel like there has to be a living human agent involved in this. Is it possible your husband's cousin faked his own death? (I know, I know ... but honestly, is it less plausible than him calling a POD company from beyond the grave?) |
Quoted PP here. Yeah it was scary. Her paranoia got progressively worse until my dad literally dragged her into the ER after telling her he was going to call the cops and 911 because he was worried she'd hurt herself or us. Had the tumor removed, aggressive treatment, but unfortunately passed away 2 years later as the tumor kept coming back. Doctors said with the type of tumor she had it would have been terminal no matter when we caught it, but still, wish we had convinced her to get checked out sooner. |

And yes, OP, this would make a good screenplay for a horror movie. That's what you're testing out here, right?
But there are people asking if the dead person left a credit card number and telling you to move, so it seems a lot of people really find this believable. |
|
I'm starting to suspect that OP is just someone who is trying to come up with story lines for a book or something. A troll with a purpose.
Teenage child that is around 16? Is he/she driving, are you stressed about that? Do you suspect drug use? |
Not really. I'm a big horror movie fan and this is too out there to be believable enough to cause any fear or suspense. |
Would be a horrible book. Leave off the POD stuff and just go with the dreams and it might be better. The POD issue is what kills it. |
I think she's waiting for the right moment to drop a link to a psychic reader. Missed her chance, though. Bad advertising, OP!! |
PP again. Phone probably rang on her "call a psychic" 800 line and while she was busy with customers, this thread took off with skeptics. We just had a "do you believe in palm readers" thread priming the pump. |

What I saw happen in my dream - which was so real, it was as if it wasn't a dream at all - wasn't too far of a stretch from something that we have already been struggling with, as a family.
I'll give you an example. Let's say your family has a huge fear of clowns. A rational fear, because someone in the family had an experience with clowns in the past, and the entire family is quite afraid of them. Then imagine that 5 or 10 clowns invade your home while you are sleeping, freak out one of your kids so much, that he or she kills themself. And perhaps burns down the house in the process. Get it now? |
I really don't. Are you saying that something that's happening in your real lives is manifesting itself in dreams? That is VERY normal. |
|
Here's my take:
Ghost is real and the threat from CO was real - real enough for the Cousin ghost to somehow contact the pod people or whatever. BUT! You have now replaced the CO detector -- so you are good! Problems solved. If the ghost returns, try to get more info. |
| OP here again (who posted the PP above). The clown example was just a hypothetical example, to try to explain what has been going on, without giving details. We do not have a fear of clowns, nor have clowns invaded our home (knock on wood). |
Agreed. That is totally normal. I have a huge fear of spiders (traumatic experience when I was a child) and that fear has recently be reignited because we've moved and have found MANY spiders in the basement that we've had to kill. The nightmares and dreams I've been having are terrifying, even down to dreaming that there is a huge infestation and we have had to burn the house down with ourselves inside to kill everything. OP, you're coming off as more and more paranoid and it is pretty worrisome. |
