And your point? Good -- take them. But, if you read the article you will note that there were other "dangers" discovered in the environment.

I simply don't agree. BOTH types of videos are equally important because they show the dangerous, invasive beliefs/culture. There's no false parity- that's YOUR value. I guess you are right in that some people may watch and believe it proves stereotypes and assume some are not able to change/learn and better themselves, but a helluva lot of people are going to see how invasive the issues and do more to help/reach these children. I don't think people will assume we all engage in these behaviors.

It was not a police training video. It was a video from facebook that the police UNION posted on its website. It was an example of why the need to break the cycle of violence.
The ensuing question is - why does vulgar language = violent thug?
First, logically, the two are very different. People can swear without being criminals, and not all criminals swear. That said... If the toddler goes to school and uses the language taught at home (telling the teacher "wwhat up bitch? Stop bein a nigga") that child will have a difficult time in school. He will be typecast early, and will most likely end up a thug because he will be dismissed at school as a troubled kid and ultimately have few avenues available.

He will end up being a thug because he was raised by thugs, treated like thugs, only saw thugs in his environment, and didn't know anything other than thuggish behaviour. This is all too common among poor, uneducated people. Its more evident in cities because we all live in such close proximity. I see it every day on the bus. A week ago I saw a grandmother yelling at a kid about three and calling him a pussy on the metro because he was upset about something. How ecactly do we think he is going to turn out? I have been in community meetings where the adults think nothing of throwing the F word around with kids running around. What do you think goes on at home? People on this board have to quit crying about racism and face the fact that a lot of people are born into shitty homes, get pregnant and then raise more dysfunctional kids. Its is a cycle of poverty and "thuggery" that is almost impenatrable. The more we good liberals pretend that this kind of homelife does NOT cause permanant emotional and brain damage the less we can overcome it. Its been shown that kids that grow up in constant abuse, lack of security actually have altered brains. And then they fall so far behind in school. At a minimum, no woman should get welfare unless she names the father of her baby and goes after child support. Birth control should be free and every parent should not be allowed a check unless they volunteer in their kids schools. Its a sad fact but some people are so isolated that we have to teach them basics of living in civil society. Im so glad this kid is in custody. Imagine if a decent family could be allowed to adopt him. The cycle of poverty and dysfucntion could be broken.
